I'll need to blend in the darker areas a bit.

I wouldn't. I like the variation... what I can see anyway.

Doc, what did you use on the sole edges?

Great work on your part and it speaks of why shell cordovan is fantastic.

    WOW!

I wish I could get my Stantons to look this good.

But you hate shell, don't you?

Thanks, CG. It all adds to the patina, so I'm not too concerned about it.

I just used some Kiwi polish on the edges, as it's what I had on hand.

Yeah, I liked them the other way, too. But I expect they'll be back to looking like that in short order, as I tend to be pretty hard on my stuff. Dunno about the model -- can only say they're Marteganis.

Not on the whole. I'm aching for a pair of Darlton tassel loafers.

So I did a little cleanup work on the shell chukkas last night. Could have done more brushing to remove the scuffs on the side, but they look more presentable now.

Did you remove the tack stitch at the bottom of the lace holes and thread your laces through those holes as well?

Some pics I took for the shell chukka thread:

Needed some good TLC. Character does not mean abuse! [IMG]

After the polishing looks a million times better. Good job.

Cleaned with a damp cloth, applied some Crema Alpina and then brushed and did a little polishing. You can see where I did spot polishing on the scuffs -- I was working at night, so I'll need to blend in the darker areas a bit. Whole thing took about a half-hour, including the drying time from the damp cloth/Crema Alpina.

Amazing work! I can't believe they are the same pair! Thanks for sharing.
