Shoe tree question

I wear a size 14 or 15 shoe, depending on the make. Size XL shoe trees are recommended up to a 14D; most manufacturers recommend XXL for size 15s, but they are much more difficult to find in stores (and generally more expensive online).

Will it be problematic to use size XL trees in size 15 shoes? They don't seem to be way too small when I put them in, but then, if they're a little smaller than they're supposed to be, will they fail to help my shoes maintain their shape?
