Yep - that dark brown pin grain has me bewitched, bothered and bewildered. I've been on 'shoe buying restriction' for three months. Only had one relapse (Carminas in green shell). Think I need to get to a 12 step meeting STAT!

Either that or I just need to order up some pin grain loafers and forgive myself for it.

The pin grain really did turn out nicely. Chay really thinks quite clearly about this stuff. We texted back and forth about how to do some new things and "bam" this is what he cam up with. I wanted a pair of the Bensons and wanted them to look unique, but still wearable in a business setting (slightly more casual of course) and I think he really succeeded. So thanks for all the compliments.

When I saw the Browning at his first trunk show I was enamored with that dark brown pin grain leather. I even ordered a pair and then backpedaled and we did the Bristol*.

    *not the dance.

G - the Lobbs are great. Judging from how they look right now they are going to patina beautifully.

I don't think I've even seen Gold Museum Calf. Sounds exotic and risky. Looking forward to the unveiling!

Didn't JL stop producing museum calf leather? Or were they discontinuing just a select few colors? Big fan of most museum colors except for black. Looks brownish/blackish. Once wore a dark charcoal suit with a pair and once I stepped outside they looked dark brown. Can't make up its mind
