Not pissy, I should have said fecal. I got a cumin-y civet off the sample card.

I had Cafe Noir way back when... and IIRC I got it from Ava herself back when she was active on basenotes (also in the trading/swapping section!) I miss those old days... for about two years in 2003-05 the site was great and had some really smart folk there.

Coco for me today; haven't worn it in a while but will give it a ride. Great 80's powerhouse oriental... louder than Opium, though less resiny... a little gourmandy/chocolate... and in parfum a wonderful, dark smoke (which is lacking in the sweeter EdT)

Annick Goutal Duel today. I woke up with a wicked cold, and I wanted something soft and comforting...

Bought a bottle of Guerlain Vetiver and Dior Eau Sauvage last night. The Guerlain one was different than the ones I've smelled in retail in the past and was exactly what I was looking for. Strange. It was in the same type of bottle as Habit Rouge and not the striped frosted bottle of what I've seen not too long ago.

Older bottle, I suppose. Does it have a green label? I prefer those to the new, although the new has its place on very warm days.

Speaking of buying, I pulled the trigger on a bottle of Pure Havane. Finally.

That sounds like the vintage EDT. It's smokier darker than the reformulation. There's also a vintage EDC which is imo better than the reformulation as a summer scent.

Found a local Serge Lutens retailer and got a couple of samples. I hadn't tried anything other than Borneo previously.

Fille en Aiguilles and Daim Blonde stood out to me as pretty good.

Also applied some Ambre Sultan while I was there. Damn this stuff is nice! It's the kind of thing I'd apply to my wrist and periodically sniff while watching a movie at home (is that weird?). :embar:

^no, not weird at all. Given what I know about Ambre Sultan (and Amber Absolute and Ambre Fetiche), I'd be huffing away as well.

Jealous. I could never pull it off I think...

Agreed. Great scent. Great just for enjoying on your own. Like Memo - Manoa and so many others.

    Ordered a sample of these:

    And

    Very excited... :)

Just applied some Serge Lutens - Arabie for the evening. I never noticed the extrem cola note in the opening, lol.
