I found an old sample of Gucci Guilty Pour Homme EDT...

Unless someone tells me it is awful, I plan to wear it tonight.

    Cheers,

I am wearing Bijou Romantique. It's a very pleasant chocolatey iris and vetiver type scent.

PSA: Probably most of you have seen this, but STC is having a huge sale on some of their fragrances, including all the Chanels. Code is SAVE45. Good from now until 11:59 PM January 24.

SOTE is Rive Gauche--the feminine version. It is a lovely bright aldehydic floral.

Juniper Sling today. I guess this is one of the lesser lights in their lineup, with 1870, Sartoriale, Blenheim and Endymion hogging the limelight, but I really like this one for a warm day. It has a wonderful crisp opening, but it does fade a fair bit as the day wears on.

EnsarOud Royal Kinam, a perfect oud oil for the days when a sparkly, crystalline, transparent kyara-like woodiness is just what the doctor ordered :)

Yesterday I wore Oud 27 by Le Labo. Man, what a crazy-ass fragrance this is. It's stanky! And skanky!
Really, there is nothing out there like it.

Today I am wearing Neela Vermeire's Mohur extrait. It's an oriental without the heavy amber accord - instead it's dry and complex. Very nice fragrance, but maybe too feminine for me.

Yesterday: Dior Leather Oud. Who else but Baron would find this one to be just too darn refined?
Today: Rose Nacrée du Desert. One of my favorite oud/rose accords. It's very earthy and dark, especially at the top.

Maybe refined was the wrong word. There's something about the relationship between the opening notes (refined?) and the base notes that don't blend easily.

Which EDT would go well with shoveling 3 to 4 feet of snow?

    Cheers,

Last night used a (generous) sample of Silver Mountain Water for Mrs GF birthday dinner in Newtown. Interesting but I've found Creed has no real lasting power or maybe it was the 80% humidity that stopped it.

Today I am wearing Tom Ford London. It's a rich, warm, dark spicy oud scent with incense. It's definitely a bit dirty, especially at the top. It's one of my favorite PBs.

Today/this morning I wore Chanel's 31 Rue Cambon - this is a beautiful perfume with ylang ylang and labdanum. There's something lingering into the drydown that keeps it bright. Maybe rose?

This evening I'm wearing Papillon's Salome - I never thought I'd find a modern fragrance that is an analogue of my vintage bottle of Chanel Cuir de Russie, but this has to be it. This alone is testimony of how fantastic a fragrance this is.

It turns out today was the one day per year when I root around in the back of my scent shelf and think "Green Irish Tweed? I haven't worn that in a while." It turns out it's also the one day per year when I think "Really? Did I ever think this was any good?"

I've never understood the online fragrance community's love for GIT. I don't actively dislike it, but it's never anywhere near the top of the list of fragrances I think about wearing on any given day.

It's not terrible (though today, for some reason, I do find it to be mildly offensive & thought about going for a run so I'd have an excuse to shower it off). It's just not very interesting.

I am no where near as "gah gah" over Creed as I am with Tom Ford or Amouage. That said, I am wearing Aventus today.

Today I'm wearing Habit Rouge EdT. This fragrance has been around for fifty years now (1965) and there's really nothing out there like it even to this day. Except for the flankers, of course, like Dress Code that was released in 2015, but I've never tried it and have no interest in it since it is supposed to have a "praline" component. Fucking barf.
