I've tried Tobacco Vanille once on myself and once on paper. It's not my style, really, but it's certainly not bad. I just don't like sweet fragrances nor vanilla. I think of Musc Ravageur as another one that I'd probably like if not for the dominant vanilla note.

I think Ravageur is supposed to be tonka in the base

Lotus, as long as you're testing/smelling the line, also try Tobacco Oud. It's the raw earthy spicey tobacco leaf part of TV but not the vanilla part (I find it dries down to a soft vanilla and personally prefer the spicier opening parts)

OK, now that you mention it,'I don't like tonka either. Three years ago I had the chance of buying two bottles of Tonka Imperiele for $25 each. I thought why would I spend even $1 on something that I don't like at all.

Someone should do a Big Data analysis of this thread to see how much overlap there is between the regulars in terms of favorite fragrances. My sense is that we're a pretty diverse bunch. So if three people are big fans of a scent, I think that qualifies informally as "Styleforum favorite."

Pre-shower: Amouage Epic Woman. I'm not a big fan of the peppery opening, but the later stages are excellent.
SOTD: Oud Ispahan. I like this, but it is just a little too rich for my taste.

    Professional? Articulate? Smells of certainty?

Makes you smell good, but doesn't frighten any of the horses.

I think the Mark Birley worked. We'll see.

Today I wore Monegal Entre Naranjos. I could get to quite liking this fragrance, except that it doesn't last at all well. I will use my sample up, but won't take it any further.

Hi, my SOTD is Ormonde Man.

Very luxurious smell. Definite weight to the scent probably better described as a presence. It is usually a SOTE for my use however with this weird weather on the east coast reads fog and mist today,I decided to indulge for the moment.

Sillage on this scent is 5+ hrs. [IMG]

Is anyone here interested in trading fragrances? (Is there a thread for this?) I have 80-90% full bottles of Lolita Lempicka Au Masculin and L'Eau d'Issey Pour Homme that I'd like to trade for something I'll actually wear.

    Merry Christmas, fuckers.

This evening I am wearing Safran Troublant, one of my top five cozy scents. Bois des Iles and Cuir d'Lancome would be a couple more in that category.

Today I received my bottle of Il Giglio di Firenze by La Via di Profumo - it's almost an orris soliflore, which would be quite pasty and dull if it weren't for the ambergris and mimosa that lift it up. High quality stuff, this is.
