Yep. I've had n19 in virtually every incarnation since it came out, from cologne to soap... and that old 70's juice is a dark funky green weird leather chypre with stink attached in a resiny form. Sound strange? It was! The biggest differences I find in various formulations and vintages is that some parfum/extrait smells more like a dark leather scent and others more like a green chypre. All are neat, but some have a slightly darker feel while others have a more resiny/weird green note that hits the nose a lot more.

Speaking of... I'm wearing it today!

Kingdom! I miss my Kingdom body lotion (which once accompanied the fragrance). Worlds foulest body lotion. Instant sloppy-seconds BO in a bottle.

Just a heads-up for those out there who have smelled, worn, or own(ed) the wonderful, classic Bal a Versailles - it is out of business now. Kaput. There are plenty of bottles out there still, but I strongly recommend you guys to get some while the prices are still reasonable.

Poivre perfume today. This smells so much like Derby.

This morning I dabbed some La Fin Du Monde on my wrist this morning and, after showering, it's still going strong.

Today: stormy, rainy, windy, so vintage Giorgio for Men.

Tobacco Vanille. Like Chergui and Musc Ravageur, it's a bit too sweet for me. I prefer Tobacco Oud.

SOTD: Santal Blush. There's a lot of work I need to get done today, so I wanted to wear a fragrance that puts me in a good mood (comfort scent).

For anyone with experience with these two scents, am I the only one who thinks they smell fairly similar?

Tom Ford Oud Wood and Bvlgari Pour Homme Soir

I got a sample of Oud Wood at the mall because I loved it so much, but as the dry down came on and I kept sniffing, it hit me like a ton of bricks that it smelled sooo similar to my Bvlgari scent. I'm really disappointed now because I feel like it's "cheapened" the scent for me.. as stupid as that may be.

Continuing the fig theme lately, today is Lubin Figaro. Not so impressed with this; ended up sweetish, close to the skin and not lasting very long.

What do you guys thing of Premier Figuier vs Philosykos? I have the latter; should I check out the L’Artisan?

    Glad to hear it.

You could say I had two SOTDs today. My intended SOTD for e pretty hot day today was Mirto di Panarea. I had to do some decanting in the morning; this is not a good idea for me, as my hands tremble. End result was I spilled 5 mls of 1740 all over the kitchen bench and got it on my hands as well. So I guess 1740 was my real SOTD, given I smelled of it all day. Kitchen and family room smell great.

So, I got my de ants of Iris Silver Mist and Sarrasins yesterday. The former smelled like shit on paper, but when I put it on for my nighttime fragrance it was much, better. I've been getting different experiences each time I sniff it and it has a good evolution. It is certainly a masterfully crafted fragrance. I may have to make this my first bell jar.

Wearing this today as well. Smells great, but projection and longevity are poor.
