Do you like Creed's Original Vetiver? I just tried it once some time ago, but all I remember is that not liked it at all (put mildly). Maybe I'm confusing it.

Yeah, I like it. It's a good one for an office environment - not too much projection. It lasted a pretty long tome too, which I believe is unusual for Creed.

Just got a nice package from the US - Jaipur, L'eau d'Hadrien, Arabie, Guerlain Homme and Orange Vert Concentee. So some new things to try.

Tell me about this Japon Noir, L'Inc.

I often say that TF Extreme captures the essence of the Tom Ford brand more than any other scent, but Japon Noir is a close second. It definitely makes a strong statement. I'd describe it as dark, spicy, and very rich. The richness comes from the amber, which emerges strongly in the drydown. The top is herbal and somewhat boozy. I would describe it as quite masculine, but oddly enough, I've seen reviewers complain that it was too feminine. I don't get that at all.

I had a chance to smell the Private Blends at a trunk show just as they were being released, and I recall being very impressed with Japon Noir. I didn't buy it right a way, though, because I really loved Purple Patchouli. But a few years later, I still had a strong memory from the trunk show, so I ordered some online. It was exactly as good as I remembered. I still like it just as much as I did the first day I smelled it.

Thanks for the review. I am, overall, not a big fan of the Tom Ford line, but I wanted to hear your impression of this one.

Vintage? I wasn't aware that New York had ever changed. Has it?
