This jacket you posted has all the hallmarks of the more flamboyant cuff that members here refer to as the "Flusser" style. Notice how the style is supposed to make a grand, sweeping gesture and is not sewn against the sleeve which is the distinguishing characteristic of lo stile Flusser; not at all subtle.
Looks like RL wanted the sleeve cuffs to echo the trouser cuffs.
Or perhaps in the context of this thread, the other way around. I will agree it makes more sense if both are done rather than one or the other.
I think im going to get a few more cuffs like on my suit jacket. I can always have them removed and I like the power they seem to have of attracting style aficionados and repelling stylistic phonies in merino wool clothing. They act as a sort of sartorial silver bullet.
