I'm on a roll :>) here. There cannot be a more public way of displaying your crassness than a RR. I cannot think of one. Period. In a few minutes in a RR you can buy gas and be seen. Park in front of 'La Escargo' and be seen. Drive up to the valet at the Hilton-nada and be seen strolling out.

You can wear Victorian platinum links, Mattuozzo shirt, A&S single button suit, Lobbs, Hermes tie, ascot, riding breeches, ostrich and croc turn up shoes - these are all private indulgences and pleasures. Nothing, and I emphasize - nothing - sends out the broadband signals that a RR does.

Discuss further.

I agree with the other poster that your post gives insight to your low socioeconomic standing and likely poor education. You talk about Lobbs and rolex with obviously no background information in either or the reason why many people choose to buy these products.

FWIW, Mustapha has a kickass vintage watch collection, if my memory serves correctly. Doesn't seem "working class", have "low socioeconomic standing" and "poor education" to me.

Thanks for the bit of support.

What is going on here now - arising from my 'hyperbole' - as you have so perceptively put it - is a clash of personal value systems. The ad hominems can follow from that. I don't mind so much ... some people do it unintentionally. Haven't been threatened yet at least.

And I did ask for discussion.

RRoyce wouldn't sell cars if they didn't appeal to so many wants. Vintage RR owners wouldn't gather if there was no attraction in the ownership experience.

I won't reword my argument as it hasn't changed. I'll only add that RR cars can also repel; as in my case.

It has nothing to do with what you can afford or not. My parents didn't have a Rolls Royce, but I also knew that you don't destroy something just because it's out of your league. It's about upbringing. Yea I did a lot of dumb ****, but someone would actually have to do something to me to make me want to destroy something of theirs. Driving around in a stately old car, not bothering anyone, definately wouldn't warrant ruining something of theirs.
