Herringbone is certainly an attractive pattern for socks. I must look for more.

Today. Marcoliani OTC coffee herringbone and some old beat up Charles Tyrwhitt brogues.

New Marcolianis. Worn to match a shetland sweater-vest.

I normally don't seek out socks with colored toes and heels, but I find that they make it easy to match and pair when the socks are solid navy. I liked these so much for that reason I bought a second pair.

Nice combo chorse123, but I believe it might be time to drop those off for new rubber heel toplifts.

Yeah, no kidding. The shoes are beat to hell. I give them no love. Oddly enough, this has seemingly improved the way they look (aside from the heel, I mean).

And thanks. The Marcoliani are fantastic - not touched even once during the entire day, either to pull them up or adjust the grip on the leg - but then I might be a little biased. [IMG]

Are these sea island cotton? Or wool? If wool, where did you get them? They are swell.

Being that they are Marcoliani's, they are either pima cotton and nylon (~75/25) or merino/nylon (80/20). I don't recognize that pattern right offhand but the Marco's I own that are similar are mostly the cotton blends.

Cashmere/silk- from Kabbaz. They hold up surprisingly well.

Hey Chorse- can you get some of the horiz. striped Marcoliani's? I'll take 'em!

He has the pattern in sea island.

Most of the horizontal stripes--like the ones I had--are seasonal specials, and probably all gone by now. I will have more next summer for f/w '09.

Lots of color, pattern and texture going on with the pants and shoes, so I kept it simple with the socks.

I just realised that I'm wearing the same coffee herringbone Marcolianis that Chorse posted the other day. Oops. I wore them so the "coffee" in the socks would match the "bitter chocolate" of my grenadine tie.
