she could take him to court over it ... but why would she want her name plastered all over the media (as it most certainly would be)? That's just asking for it.

I would think her slapping him could end up with an assault charge so I would just let it lie if I was her for that reason alone.

having your name on the front page of the NY Post is the equivalent of an assault charge. Maybe a little worse.

There was a collision on the 6:10 Metro North train. That's the not the train Manton rides, is it?

On a recent Sunday I took my daughter to a show and parked on the street. Yup, you guessed it, return and no car. Police have no record of tow and we take the train home. Next day I return to file police report....still no record, so we assume car is stolen. I see a meter reader and ask about Sunday parking and towing and he suggests I go to the Tow Pound...he bets my car is there. I head down and sure enough my car is there. No charge, car towed for 'safe keeping, movie shoot'. How pissed should I be ?!?

^you were lucky. they will have "signs" posted on blocks warning beforehand that there will be movie/tv/commercial shooting and for that period of time its illegal to park there. But, often times the signs are obstructed/destroyed/not totally obviously posted.

even more confusing is when they will tow a car a couple blocks away and "re-park" it for something like a NYRR race, or a parade.

They'll often put it in a totally illegal place too (like a no standing zone) with a flyer/sticker on from the authorities explaining the situation. of course in the mass confusion of maybe 100 cars being moved they'll often forget to put on the sticker/flyer, plus you have to be around for people to tell you your car has been moved - races/parades eventually end and sometimes cops in the area aren't informed to what happened earlier.

aaaaaand we've hit the point where it will be 1000000000% humidity with a chance of thunderstorms every day until Thanksgiving.

    great!

    Why do I live here?

Seriously. I underestimated the humidity today, and am paying for it now.

there is a grain of truth to this. Of course the real reason I live here is because I need the money. But part of me thinks that "the grass is always greener" impulse is at work, in that, if I moved home, I would just find reasons to hate it there. So i'd rather stay and hate it here and love it there.

50s is great. Let the complainers move down to Houston where it will reach 90s this week.

I'm a big Houston booster and I also lived in NYC many years.

Strictly per the weather, NYC is better and not bad in general.
