Tried to pull a deadlift pb of 187.5kg after doing 3 sets at 165; think I might've got it up about 1/16th of an inch!

was in st. pete for 8 days with my gf. had one of the greatest vacations ever, such a beautiful city filled with history. also an excellent chance to get some practical training in my russian skills. so many babushkas told us that we should have kids already, since we're both 27 :)

missed some work things because some local reporters wanted to get my comments on a paper that I wrote, but thankfully my boss handled them.

+ a billion… I could not agree with you more. I lived there for 3 years. If China takes over Taiwan will cease to exist.

Yup. It's funny how much of a difference a more suitable stance can make.

Is it possible that one's hips are just too shitty to squat ever without chronic injury?

Some hips are formed in a way so you cannot squat to parallell without low back flexion, which in turn puts stress on the low back.

In most cases, I'd guess it rather has to do with weaknesses or inactive muscles that alters the movement pattern into one that can lead to injury. Or just bad technique.

I fasted for 20 hours today for the first time, lifted kinda hard during the last few hours. Drank some water during the fast, didn't feel much otherwise, seemed pretty easy after the initial hunger urge. I think I ate about 1k calories in one sitting after, which is about my normal limit. Tempted to try it again but not sure how healthy this is.

It's simply hip pain. My hips always click and pop in their sockets.

Maybe something to do with your martial arts training?

Don't think so, though I remember my hips would pop even when I did taekwondo like 15 years ago. Squatting has just caused me a lot of hip flexor pain.

I'm by no means an expert on anatomy, but it sounds like it has to do with how your hip is constructed. A quick google gave many other answers though, such as inactive hips.

You are as good as how you feel. Nobody can tell you whether you are too fat or too skinny. If you feel good and healthy you are doing everything right . If you feel like you want to look thinner, go for it work out and burn calories.
Listen to yourself, not to anyone else.
Even when you are in "perfec" shape peolple will tell you, that they wouldn't spent much time with exercising to look better. Here we go.

Fifteen minutes ago, I just listened to two of my employees complain about how they need to lose weight. One is now noisily eating a bag of chips. The other just mentioned that "it's a chocolate kind of day" and is eating a mint smoothie.
