    Already back, hehe.

Just wanted to share the results and experience from my first powerlifting meet today:

Strangely, I wasn't particularly nervous this morning.
Came to the competition well in time to meet the other lifters from my club and start queuing for weigh-in.
Weighed in at 86.5 kg / 190 lbs and was thus placed in the weight class -93 kg (183-295 pounds).

    Squats
    120 kg / 265 lbs - 3-0 (as in 3 white lights, zero reds)
    135 kg / 298 lbs - 2-1
    145 kg / 320 lbs - 3-0

I choose to open very easy to secure the first lift. Was instructed to increase up to 135 kg by our team coach. 135 felt good but was on the verge of too shallow, hence one red light. The last lift was a 11 pound PR.

    Bench
    82.5 kg / 182 lbs - 3-0
    87.5 kg / 192 lbs - 3-0
    95 kg / 210 lbs - 3-0

The two first lifts were easy so I chose to make a big jump and go for a 20 pound PR. Very pleased with my bench progress.

    Deadlift
At this point, I was very worn down and tired. I don't many people realize how tough it is to lift for so many hours and that you have to psyche yourself up for multiple PRs in all of the big lifts in one day. Deadlifts were also the lifts I was most worried about since my training cycle leading up to the meet has had me deadlifting with higher frequency and volume but lighter weights. My CNS wasn't very accustomed to max efforts DLs.

    140 kg / 308 lbs - 3-0
    150 kg / 330 lbs - 3-0
    160 kg / 352 lbs - 0-3

First two lifts went up smoothly. So I went in hard for a 160 kg last attempt to get a nice 400 kg / 880 lb total. Good speed right off the floor but the lift just died. Got out of position and my back began to round.

All in all, I'm pleased with my performance and the experience I got. It would be nice to get a 400 kg total at my first meet but 10 kg less doesn't bother me. I knew the DLs would be troublesome. I need to work out what is making it my worst lift, cus structurally, I'm supposed to be good at it.

I also want to encourage everyone who has the opportunity to enter a meet as soon as possible. There were guys there squatting 220 for their last attempt with people cheering on them. No one cares what you numbers you hit. They just like to see you put in some effort and push yourself to your max. Also, many people don't even watch the lifts unless its some big weights. People generally just come there to test themselves and don't care much what anyone else does, apart from their friends.

Its 6 months until the next meet, so I have a nice and long training block to put on some much needed size.
    Aiming for 350-230-385.

    Thanks man!
    Its allowed in IPF.

I think its done to help you get a tighter setup. It really gets my arch dialed in.

One reason the arch looks so intense is cus I'm quite skinny.
The fat bench pressers (as in they only compete in bench) also arch a ton, but their gut makes it look less intense.

Missed this before, but I'm not sure what your point is here other than being a cunt for the sake of it unless you misunderstood what I was saying

It's okay, I've read your post like 5 times and the only point that I could squeeze out of it was that assholes are going to be assholes. There are entire fields of study dedicated to looking at the neurological and cognitive changes that occur with addiction.

I thought he was saying that if you're not a jerk when you're sober but being drunk brings it out, it's the substance, not a personality issue.

I shaved my legs and my quads look so much bigger, but they feel really weird. Like i've never touched a jewcy hairless quad, must be like a swole women. Never realised i have stretch marks on my tear drops.

I did that once. Girls do not like the 3 day scraggly ass leg hair going on so prepare to either shave everyday or itch.

Just saw a pic of elliot hulse's wife, I guess all the gains in the world can't compensate for referring to yourself as a wizard on the reg.

Also shaved my chest, and stomach. I might buy an epilator, shaving took literally about an hour.
