Good stuff Mark. I really need to focus on shoulders bench/overhead press. It's sorta embarrassing working out with someone when I'm repping 300 in squat, they can only do 250 or so. Then we go to bench and I'm still at 175lbs and they are 200+.

Didn't some people here train their girlfriend? My lady wants to start, she's got two days a week. Was thinking about what to do.

Been having some existential thoughts about my lifting, if you want to call it that, and thinking about where I want to go with this ultimately. I don't want to sound like some kind of enlightened gym rat, but nothing has made me a better person in my life than pushing weight and progressing my body... I've always been depressed, always looking for a way to make myself feel better. Whether it was drugs or alcohol, or screwing slutty chicks... I dunno. But I don't know, since I started lifting my life has improved dramatically in all areas, it's like things make sense. I tried seeing a therapist, tried all kinds of medications and shit, for fucks sake I was holed up in a institution for 3 months after trying to kill myself... And all of that feels like another life now. So I guess lifting keeps me sane? I got my act together, I finished school, I got a decent job and for once in my life I actually have a plan for the future... I want to take it further now, after I'm done cutting I want to focus on sheer strength and power. I want to be aesthetic, but I also want to be huge, and I think lifters like Charly and Dan Green prove that you can be both. I can never see myself on a bodybuilding stage, not knocking those who do it whatsoever, but it's not for me. I want to start powerlifting and competing... Kind of rambling post, but meh. After cut is complete going to join this gym, it's about a 15 minute drive from my house, could even bike there if need be. How can I begin to educate myself about how powerlifting works, the different federations and organizations, what does geared and ungeared mean, with without wraps etc. Also good coaches I can look into, if anyone has any idea. Would much prefer someone who is local, who can coach me in person a few times in person, write my diet, etc Also, I'll be 23 in August, is that too late to start training and becoming elite? I taught a group of girls squat. They learned it faster and with better form than my friends and I.

I did a mud run at the aviator complex. It's nice but you need either a car or a bike to get there.

Managed to fart in a girls face in the gym, was awkward as fuck, but I just didn't acknowledge it so it wasn't too bad. The way my gym is layed out is there are power racks and connected to each rack is a platform. Some girl who is like 5'2" was sitting on the platform behind the squat rack I was using and I'm 6'3" so her head was pretty much inline with my ass. I have been on that high dairy/eggs/protons diet recently and whilst squatting I did a dench fart, quite awks. I also vommed in the super market after, I love leaving my body fluids across london. Been doing lots of timed sets on legs like 60-80kg for a few minutes of squatting only locking out to rest. I feel like a massive pussy using less then half my previous max,but dat pump.

Someone aware me on a sickening sleep aid, been waking up every couple hours recently and sweating loads.

    Great post.

I haven' been through rough times like you but I've def improved as a person since I started lifting. I think it's made my a lot more confident and secure in myself, being able to do what I want in life and not be dictated by what others want me to be. It also taught me a lot about working hard and be persistent in order to reach your goals.

Nice to hear that you wanna start training for powerlifting too! Like I've said before, it has made my training a ton more enjoyable and has changed my perspective on fitness for the better in many ways.

    Reading:
http://www.jtsstrength.com/ for god articles by Brandon Lilly, Chad Smith, Dan Green, and many others...
http://www.reactivetrainingsystems.com/ for Mike Tuscherers articles and to watch the logs there for people who train on a RTS template. Very solid layout of those routines and many of Swedens top powerlifters use it.

For the actual training and gearing it towards powerlifting, there's so much you can do and many ways will work. If you're used to a modified Stronglifts you could just transition into the very similar Texas Method or Madcow 5x5 when your gains stall and rotate some assistance work to your weaknesses at the time.

Ha, I did something similar the other day.
Also bulking with 3-4 eggs every day and loads of carbs and dairy.
Was doing sit ups in the GHR and one of the two really strong girls at the gym was foam rolling behind me. Let out a fart in the middle of the set. Awkward as hell since I know her but I just continued like nothing happened.

I take ZMA, valerian pills and drink rooibos (red tea) to aid sleeping. The valerian root pills are effective but you will get the weirdest and most fucked up dreams. I sleep like a baby on it but half the time you get those horrifying nightmares where you're sort of aware that its a dream but you can't wake up. The other times I got vivid sex dreams. So its pretty much worth a shot.

Look at it this way... if you had to get rid of a macro, better carbs than protein or fat
