    Propensity for injury.

Movement issues which can be considered "pathologies" for lifting, but not everyday life.

Morphologies which tank one lift and elevate another.

Acquired or innate ability to sniff out efficient movement patterns to perform a particular lift.

The extent of (weight) gain and individual response to (weight) gain.

    Goals for 2014:

    • Competition in May - total 1700 @ 198 or 220 (650/425/650 - 25lb buffer)
    • Competition in November - total 1800 @ 198 or 1850 @ 220 (possibly 198)

Very lofty goals but I've always set the bar high and I seem to work better this way.

1850@ 198 will set me at #2 all time raw. 1800@198 will set me at #8 all time raw. 1850@220 will set me at #18 all time raw.

That's in descending order of least likely to most likely.

Hit 3 paused reps at 245lbs on bench today. Then immediately ran to the bathroom and threw up. It was strange.

Have decided my goal for the first half of the year is to gain five more lbs which will put me at 205 and then do a controlled cut down to 185. Figure I can finish the bulk in January and then take off the 20lbs over 4 or so months.

Don't really do New Years Resolutions but I have some goals for the next year.

Think I've written this here before, but I'm aiming to hit these numbers for my birthday in May:

    3 plate Squat
    2 plate bench
    4 plate DL

    Currently:
    Squat: 225 for 5 sets of 5, 275 Max
Paused Bench: 165 for 3 sets of 5, 185 Max (sucks, I know)
    Deadlift: 285 for 5, 315 Max

Also gonna reach 200 lbs bodyweight in summer.

Starting to train at the PL and Oly gym on wednesday. May do a meet next fall.

Any of you guys use wrist wraps for low bar squats?
My wrists are already starting to hurt at around 250 pounds.

I know I should support the weight on my back rather than holding it in place with my hands but I figured I could use straps in a preventive way.

This week I forewent the wrist wraps during low bar squat. I thoroughly regret it because I now have a case of tennis elbow -- it's not that I support the bar with my hands but the flexion in the wrist put too much strain on my forearm, connecting to the elbow.

After all, the heavy squatters wear wrist wraps. There must be a reason.

Lol, Eason. Not sure if serious...
Squatting three times a week now. Need to increase my squat with 3 pounds per week. I think thats manageable on a bulk. The bench goal will be a lot harder to reach.

I'm starting to think the weights I used in Hong Kong on that uni gym were significantly lighter than they were supposed to be. All lifts have gone down by 10 pounds since I came home and started to train with Eleiko bars and plates again. Frustrating, but I'm still progressing.

Yeah Coldsnap, were kind of in the same boat. I'm gonna try some bench overloading with board presses again. I think they helped me during the fall.

Feeling very weird today, woke up feeling light headed and kind of weak, senses kind of dulled.

Went to the gym anyway, could barely lift what I regularly do and was dizzy, ended up puking and left.

    Wtf m8

Sounds like whatever I got. Sore throat, congestion, really lethargic. Can't function for more than 3 hours without laying down. I hate winter. Cost me 2 workouts.
