Rope crunches, hanging leg raises, plate side crunches.

I should also be doing weighted planks.

Very slow, controlled decline crunches. 6 sec per rep. They burn.

    Fuckkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk.

This PE firm finally got back to me saying I could intern from January to June. I'm not even applying for school until Fall, and so I'd be working this internship which pays terrible followed by 1 1/2 years that I have no idea where I'd work.

superset your squat/deadlift warmup / backoff sets with easy core work - just take care to drop it if you're working around your max. this is an awesome way to build up; start with a number that you can do very easily and tack on a rep every week. between my squat warmups and backoff sets i end up doing 10x8 ab wheels and it doesn't affect my squatting negatively at all. i don't know about you but i hate doing ab work after my session is done so supersetting it in means i get it done. i pretty much stick to ab wheels and hanging leg raises at this point. i've never really gotten the hang of pulldown abs and i find it too easy to cheat on situps. i think a lot of ab exercises are deceptive as lots of them "burn" but i question their actual usefulness.

also, if you're really keen and want to boost your GPP and get the heart rate up, add in 25 speed rope contacts between warmup sets, and tack on another 10-15 contacts as time goes on. before you know it you'll be knocking out 100 contacts x 10 which helps a lot with both fat loss and overall conditioning. it also warms up your rotator cuffs nicely.

the whole idea behind this supersetting stuff is to acclimatize your body to a "minimum" workload while still having it benefit from the volume you're doing. these are pretty simple methods to boost your core strength and make sure you don't get winded when you climb a flight of stairs.

I really like the idea of supersetting ab wheel and hanging leg raises between sets of squats and deadlifts. Gonna look weird to gym casuals but whatever.

Excuse the ignorance, what are speed rope contacts?

Front squats, pallof press and am exercise john meadows does using a lat pulldown machine. My abs show at high bodyfat levels so I'm sure they will be epic when I cut

haha what advice can I give? I won't start anything for a while, I'm still in my 2nd year of uni. Had my final round interview at a very large FTS firm yesterday. In England we have these things called assessment centres where it's like 8 hours of interviews, case studies, presentations and group work. Was competing with people from like Kent, Aston and Exeter so I was pretty sick. I also have final round at a top bulge bracket in January, like one of the best of the bunch.

I don't know, being that you're at a top european finance school I'd figure you'd have a better grasp of how far PE internships can get you or something. I thought you weren't interested in banking. You interviewing for BB openings in the US or Britain?

I don't know anyone whose gone into PE or done a PE internship, but I assume if the partners like you they may take you on. PE firms don't really seem to advertise to undergrads particularly much. I've only seen Blackstone on campus. I can't imagine it would be as useful as say 2 years at a bulge bracket if your aiming to go to a top PE firm afterwards as I assume yours is quite small, but it's still an opportunity I would definitely take. No, IBD is what I am interested in definitely, only applying for London jobs, but the HF offer I had is from HK.
