    I like my Rhino Anacondas - pretty stiff wrap but soft hand.

    Probably a bit overkill for you. You should be fine with the normal wraps: http://www.ironrebel.com/rhino-24-inch-61-cm-wrist-wraps/

    Or any other normal wrap out there.

    Any will work for you as long as you know how to wrap them correctly. 90+% of people I see use wrist wraps don't use them efficiently.

    By correctly you mean wrapping it kind of like a spiral so it covers a wider surface area up to the bottom of your hand and not just over itself a bunch of times right? I use the biggest length of titan THPs, they're massive over kill, make my hands go numb and change colour as well as being very painful, but fuck that stability man. Don't even have to think about squeezing my hands, they must crush a nerve or something that forces my palms closed. Makes db bench feel like i'm using a hammer strength machine. My dad got some short standard inzers and for most purposes they'd be fine and you can bare to wear them for more then a few minutes.

    First part is irrelevant because he was just regurgitating data from the study. You only need to scrutinize the qualifications of the authors of the study, not the blog post. Although 10 weeks certainly isn't enough time to assess long term affects, that wasn't the goal for their findings.

    Although reading through it, the exercise group gained marginally more strength than test + no exercise group despite less new muscle mass.

    I find it rather strange that body building programs are seen as the only to get "aesthetic" in this thread.
    Yeah most powerlifters are fat...but then so are bodybuilders 90% of the year. The solution is the same; keep your diet in check if you wanna look good.

    Moreover there are plenty (hell I'd say the majority) of people who dont actually like bodybuilder aesthetics. Not all of us think swole arms look that great. For the majority of people they just want to look like NFL players. Who are on...power programs.

    The idea that only bodybuilding workouts get you looking good naked is demonstrably wrong. It's also very clear that you can get a pretty impressive upper body focussing purely on heavy overhead press, weighted pullups, bent over rows, bench press and a few supplementary exercises thrown in.

    Hell, most of the bodybuilding routines focus on those very exercises anyway, so why is it wrong to suggest a strength training program to a noob?

    I'm not sure what answer you're expecting. I'd pick linebacker every time. No way I'd want to look as big as Arnold, fortunately that doesn't happen on accident. I'm also not clear what exacly post prompted hendrix's in the first place though...

    disagree on the first part. what's his motivation for writing it? if he's not an expert, and evidently doesn't care whether people juice or not, then why bother? it reads like a cheap attempt to build honest-guy credibility for his site, which coincidentally happens to sell a book promising "the BEST results as FAST as possible." i think it is prudent to be mindful of the context that people wave studies around in, especially if they preface it with something as patronizingly good-guy-ish as "im no expert, im just looking out for u bruh."

    Yup. And the point of a program like Starting Strength is to take advantage of the fact that if you are weak and untrained, you can add weight to the bar and get strong really, really fast. SS is designed to last 6-9 months. People act like once you do Starting Strength you're stuck with it forever.

    Reckon the majority of people want to look like physique contestants actually. Even if someone wanted to look like a NFL player that doesn't mean training like one is the best way to do that. If I want to have fucking huge quads like an olympic lifter that doesn't mean the best way for me to get huge quads is by olympic lifting. It's not that bodybuilding routines are the only way to get jacked, it's that there the fastest, if powerlifting routines were the fastest then we'd be calling those bodybuilding routines.


    Lol when will it be my turn to run SS for 9 months, 645lb squat, 345lb bench sounds nice.

    says who? i think the only people who are outspoken advocates of bodybuilding routines/disregard strength are TK and cool the kid. TK did a bb show and cool the kid has an irrational fear of squatting/deadlifting and strength training. no hate, but i think this post is largely coloured by rhet's latest period. most of the posters itt are talking about lift pr's, not the sickening quadruple drop set arm pump they got on today.

    outside of that, the whole bodybuilding versus powerlifting routine thing is an overblown distraction. i think it would make much more sense to emphasize the importance of busting ass consistently and focusing on long-term progression on an "okay" program versus getting caught up in the endless pissing match between training philosophies in the search for the optimal routine.

    And he looks amazing, no doubts about that, but I say this with total respect he does not have much mass.

    That BF% plus like 20-30 lbs of muscle would be dope.

    But that's just my view on things, if you wanna be shredded aushwitz mode, like it was not so tactfully said here, thats your call dawg.

    Im a manlet king (5' 10") and 190lbs + bulking. Most of my weight is in my legs

    Squats aren't bad but they're not for everyone and not necessary for big legs.

    *EDIT* Plus you are in a sport where squat is king so that may skew your perceptions of what's normal/necessary.

    Of course I agree he would look better with more mass. It's just about how I want to get there. Not on any time table, so I'd rather look good first by cutting than bulk to cut a couple months off of achieving the end result.
