It doesn't, any more than using Paypal directly. But if you don't, then grailed loses a lot of important information that... helps grailed - to decide on future monetization strategies, evaluation of the worth of the site, etc...

The problem with that copy is that it's a transparent lie. The guy wants to make money without seeming like he wants to make money. And at least at this point, he has relatively little to offer. I've looked into what he purports to offer, and that type of insurance is expensive, and honestly, would require its own staff to administer. Processing claims is tedious, time consuming, work.

If you want protection, use PayPal. Or EBay.

I'd feel the same way as Fok, but I like reading his posts about Grailed guy, because his ownership of SF kind of forces him to be diplomatic in conveying, "I FUCKING LOATHE THIS GUY."

Weird part about grailed is now that fees aren't free anymore you send 3% PayPal fee to grailed guy and not PayPal. So he makes that money now? Might be problematic in terms of returns or cases where you have to refund whole payment but PayPal wouldn't cover payment you sent to grailed?

The fee still goes to paypal I believe.

Grailed is just a listing site.

I don't know, my memories of U-ni-ty are racks and racks of it heavily discounted at Century 21 and Loehmann's maybe 5-7 years ago, and it didn't impress me enough then to buy any of it at the time (and I was easier to please in those days). Or maybe I did and just haven't held onto it, which doesn't say much for it either. I just had another quick glance and it seems fine but pretty nondescript, and a quick Yoox search reveals [virtual] racks and racks of it on there.

There's just not enough going on for it to make it a worthy addition to the site I don't think. With a name that bad it would have to be absolutely stellar to consider it anyway haha

I've been impressed with the stuff I tried (from Yoox, of course). The workmanship is solid and the fabrics + treatments were really cool. Maybe they've improved since 5-7 years ago?

Either way, if there's a line that jives with the current direction SWD has taken, it's U-ni-ty. Rough-textured fabrics that still feel soft, traditional menswear shapes that have been subtly fucked with, etc. Y'all should try the stuff on Yoox if you're bored at work or something

edit: synth's pitti writeup does it more justice than I can. Gotta say I'm a bit surprised with how negative c4's experience was, cause everything I've handled has been great.
