If you liked Bebop, try Trigun and Samurai Champloo. Trigun is a space western, Samurai Champloo isn't (as the name suggests). However it's directed by the same guy who did Bebop. He just took the "jazz + space western" formula and reimagined it as "hip hop+ feudal Japan".

Yes mate, I know exactly what it means. :)

A Kind Of Guise - ja, ve are serious, playful UND cheesy. :)

Apologies for the lame British stereotype of the Germans. Anyone should feel free to chip in with an equally lame German stereotype of the British. I'm sure there are plenty :)

It's not like AKOG go screen printing their name on their pieces. If it's a big deal you can take off the tag and there would be no evidence. They make a look of good shit as far as I can see, I only own a couple shirts and a pair of heavy wool pants and they are all really good. Their outerwear usually looks pretty great.

I always thought Fear of God, En Noir, Opening Ceremony and Want Les Essentials were pretty terrible names though.

Pains singer was one of my best friends in high school #brusheswithfame. He's pretty much the only original member in the band at this point. Peggy like runs Buzzfeed or something.

Also: Asian females maybe underrepresented in indie rock; potentially overrepresneted as indie rock dudes' girlfriends

Kamen Rider Gaim is not even an anime, but I love it so much that I started a blog about it.

yeah but I don't want to support a brand that has such a shitty name. It's a philosophy, man

Peggy from Pains was at my wedding. Me and pretty much all my friends have gone through several relationships since then. That was a fun party though!

Old fashioned New England clambake in my parents back yard.

They aren't selling their name, they're selling clothes.
I mean I get it, it is a shitty name, sometimes I blame that stuff on some kind of language barrier (although I'm positive that's not the case, just makes me feel better). I just don't think I could avoid a brand based on the name if what they actually make is good.
I actually like wings + horns though. Hell of a lot better that spruce.

Just checked out AKOG for the first time; somehow I thought it would be horrible pseudo-goth ninja stuff (what I assume all poorly named brands are apparently)...and damn it, I really like a lot of their clothes. That is a terrible name though, don't think I can get past it

Agreed with Want Les Essentials - terrible. I hadn't heard of Fear of God. Equally crap.

Yeah, it's a way of life.

Like they say over at AKOG:
"The skill and sensibility that goes along with German engineering [or a terrible brand name] is at the very core of what we do and we enjoy playing our small part, upholding that tradition in our field."

Band of outsiders is also shit. Public School - I know a lot of people here hate that brand, personally it's one of my favourites. But the name is terrible.
Ok, so outside of designers that use their own name for their brand. What are good names?
Cloak? Maybe not "good" but pretty much perfectly appropriate for what they did.

In UK, a "public school" is actually a very expensive and exclusive private school.

Temple of Jawnz is a terrible, cringe worthy name, even Drew admits it.

Well, those guys just went to public school in NYC and though "hey, what a great name".
I caught the bendy buses in Sydney a lot as a kid, I will call my brand "bendy bus".
