You can get refillable cups on ebay and then you can put proper coffee in it, instead of the pickwick of coffee.

As far as cheap coffee goes, Nespresso is pretty good.

you can actually fill your own nespresso pods? that would be great.

for a quickie home shot it's not too bad. the machine was a gift ... so now i'm 'in the club'. someday I'll upgrade to something nicer. too much to buy.

I honestly don't get coffee snobs, at all. Nespresso + the foamer thing it comes with makes delicious coffee.

you can use these things to fill your own pods:

reviews are a little wonky imo, it seems like the pods are not perfect but its a solution...

RE coffee snobs, if they want to take the time to get the espresso machine, grind the coffee, and clean it then by all means do so, for others like myself nespresso is quick and easy and that is more important to me than a tiny bit of a better taste.

time is the most valuable thing in the world, you cannot buy more

Who you defending against? Wife and children? [IMG]

I used to smoke cigarettes as a teenager and young adult and that's what my 8oz a day coffee addiction a few years ago started to feel like, where the daily fix became an end of its own and crash burn an hour later. I brew large batches of rooibos tea now served fresh hot but mostly cold from the fridge, very healthy and no addiction. Helps replace monotony of drinking plain water too.

As a non-coffee drinker, sometimes I think it would be an enjoyable ritual but most times it just sounds like a lot of work.

The nerdiness can reach staggering heights. But buying good beans from a good roaster ain't that hard. Grinding beans, boiling water, and pouring it isn't exactly rocket surgery either. I guess it comes down to whether you want enjoy some good coffee, or whether you seek the Ultimate Coffeedrinking Experience 3x / day.

So what kind of baller sugar free syrups do gentlemen prefer? I'm trying to up my frappuccino game; feels like I'm squirting dirt on a masterpiece.

Maybe *sugar free* is the problem. :(
