    Future is eh
    Pusha was unusually weak
And Pharrell is...actually not that bad, better than I expected [IMG]

All in all, I don't understand why people would listen to that track more than once

Didn't see him sitting in the jeep until the second view haha.

I love bad trap rap. And P's verse is good.

Good beat. Good verse from Pharrell. When was the last time he rapped on a track like that?

"Drop it like it's hot" or "Mr me too" I'd guess
For "bad trap rap" you should check out young thug if you haven't already [IMG]

So, I have this good friend in town who runs a very successful book restoration company with 19th C hand operated equipment out of his garage. I ran into him at the local coffee shop yesterday, and he tells me that he has always wanted to open a shop in town where he can do his work, sell leather bound books, stationery, leather goods, a limited amount of men's clothing/accessories, shaving goods, etc. This is essentially exactly what I've been daydreaming about for the past year (although I'd also like it to be a local artisan collective).

Oh, and he has a millionaire customer/benefactor who wants to invest in his business. :eh: Times like this, I really wish I was unemployed rather than at a relatively comfortable academic job (although, I am growing to dislike academia more and more...)

For sure. The Stoner remix w/ Wale has steadily been growing on me.

Pharrell did this sort of thing on "Real" with The-Dream a few years ago.

the first half of Future's verse here was good; Pharrell's was all right

I guess I just hate all the bullshit posturing that's so prevalent in that music and culture.

And yet all that posturing and that music and that culture is essentially what's diffusing high fashion from the runway to the street.

For some more serious suggestions though (I have a hard time with trap rap), here are a couple of great albums I've been playing non-stop this week (that you may not have heard of):
    GNK - Yc the Cynic
BetterOffDEAD - Flatbush ZOMBIES (kinda trap-esque here and there)
Black up - Shabazz Palaces (this is kinda...experimental I guess, you gotta give it a few listens)
    The Night's Gambit - Ka
    Skelethon - Aesop Rock
    R.A.P. Music - Killer Mike

And here are a couple more well-known ones that are equally great:
    Madvillainy - Madvillain
The Mouse and the Mask - Dangerdoom
    Summer Knights - Joey Bada$$
"XXX" & "Old" - Danny Brown
    Control System - Ab-Soul
Acid Rap - Chance the Rapper

You say that as if it's something that's particularly important, culture will continue to evolve. Fashion is in vogue right now, it'll be that way for a while and then it'll move on to something else.

Yeah, I guess you're right. Probably why I don't tend to listen to much of it.
