I think this is a good call. Tifosi gives good advice. Not sure about the rangers, but I have a pair of 8D shell venetians that I thought felt very snug on the instep and width.
I almost returned them to get an 8.5D. However, after just 2-3 wears indoors with slightly thicker athletic socks to help stretch them, they now fit me perfectly.

I also remember basically having to jam my foot in them as well, but now they slip on and off pretty easily. In my experience, shell does stretch a fair amount(especially if you want it to).

    Hope this helps.

Are there Rancourt stockists in Seattle?

[IMG] I saw those at a retailer and really liked them. Now, that it's getting warmer that canvas top should keep your feet cooler than a leather boot. For 2 years of use, that CXL hasn't darkened up at all.

Not that I've heard of, though I don't live anywhere near Seattle, of course. Taylor Stitch in San Francisco was carrying Rancourt recently, Don't see them on their website currently though.

Agree: @TH3515, those are great looking boots. I really like the canvas and the Norwegian style stitching around the toe.

Very jealous right now. I'd gladly take a longer wait even at full retail. Talk about FOMO.

The canvas is soft and very comfortable but it's leather lined, so it's not really cooler than, say, an unlined cxl top. Btw I'm still not sure what leather this is. It doesn't have that typical cxl smell and it has no pull-up. It also is shinier than I would expect from cxl. But then I only have one pair of cxl shoes (navy boat chukkas) so what do I know;-)

    Thank you!

I'm thinking about a Blake wingtip in black Buckaroo. Does anyone here have a Buckaroo wingtip, or any other shoe in Buckaroo for that matter? Thoughts and/or pics? TIA . . .

First of two pairs I've been waiting on. Boat shoe in Parisian blue with honey boat sole. I'm really liking the color.

Truly beautiful. The Parisian blue is just awesome. I love how vibrant it is in-person (I'd say the top color is closest to real life), and this is a great makeup all around.

    Half,
I'm attaching a pix of my buckaroo ranger mocs. Personally, I would probably not go with this leather for a wingtip unless you're going for something of a foul weather shoe. I think that this cxl leather is really thick and has a rough texture. With all the layers of a wingtip, it would be double thick. Buckaroo kinda reminds me of pebble grain. I would look for a thinner more pliable CXL for a wingtip.

I'm not a leather expert so there may be variations of buckaroo that are not as thick.

Natural CXL, natural midsole, natural RLH crepe sole
    Self-laced, blind eyelets

These look great! Were these a MTO or did you order them directly online? Nice choice.

^Very nice. I like the way the colors blend. Then it will be interesting to see how the uppers age and the shoes change their look.

    Enjoy!

Wow, now I'm contemplating changing my first pair of Rancourts from the natural CXL to this parisian blue!! I love the honey sole and the chestnut laces with this blue.
