Wow, crazy fast shipping from Purdey! I just ordered their version of the Coniston yesterday but it's already cleared customs and is supposed to arrive today. It's UPS though and the tracking info already states "receiver must pay the duties or taxes due on the package."

Cool. Post your impressions when those boots arrive. Really curious.

I saw that on the tracking of my Islays but when I picked up at UPS, they didn't collect anything.
    I haven't received a bill.
    Yet.

Will do. If they actually arrive today, I'll get some pics up tomorrow AM.

Keeping my fingers crossed but even if they do collect duties, for $300 these were still a steal.

    What's $300? Doesn't 230 pounds convert to like $325?

Another stupid question, but does the C&J version only come in scotch grain or also this tan calf version as Purdey is selling? If only in scotch grain can this even be considered a Coniston boot?

And the ever famous triple post, what the heck kind of BS is this. Both the 11.5 and 12 go from 230 up to 357, it's only the dinky sizes that stay at the lower price. So much for a new pair of boots.

Finally tried on my Purdey Islays and thinking about sending them back. Before I do, wanted to offer them up to my fellow fans at my cost. They are 7UK (8US). PM me if interested.

230gbp less 20% VAT is about 191GBP which is about $270 then add shipping to get about $300.

The Coniston has been available from C&J in many different materials and styles over the years.
I've got a pair in tan calf/suede on crepe and another in green calf/brown suede on dainite. They're both marked as Conisons. They were both Barney's makeups.

Thanks zippyh, unfortunately after posting those questions I then saw that my size(s) is not on clearance like the others.

I would contact them and request the same price. Their customer service is excellent.

Why would you want to get rid of them? They don't fit as expected?

They arrived! UPS nailed me for an additional $32.89 which is about what I had expected. The boots look great! They came in a Purdey box with an envelope containing an additional set of laces.

Fit is great and I had ordered a 9E like all my other C&Js. I couldn't have done UK = US - 1.5 like some others do with C&J boots. I'm still sort of amazed that UPS got the order to me from the UK in the very next day, when they couldn't do that with yesterday's NMWA order that only needs to go 50 miles.

That is an amazingly quick delivery. I ordered mine on Tuesday, live about 20 mins from the store and haven't received mine yet [IMG]

Ho do you find the leather and dainite soles compared to regular C&J models?

Thanks for the pics. These look great. My pair also arrived at my proxy yesterday. Purdey ships in record timing. I'm really glad I got on this makeup since I already have a pair of tan alpine grain boots on pre-order.
