    Hi gents,

I would like an advice before buying a pair of harlech shoes.

I am big C&J fan (as many others here :) and I have a few pairs now : connaught, edgware, millbank, chukkas and conniston
Living in Paris, I could never tried the harlech boots but.... I am going to London in a few days [IMG]

I have already a pair of conniston and Indy boots so basically I don't need an other pair of boots for weekend. So my questions to the lucky harlech owner are :

Would you wear harlech boot with suit (blue or grey)?

For you what is the best store in London to buy them (advice and stock)?

Thanks very much and sorry for my poor english

As stated probably a hundred times here on SF I really, really love my Harlechs so I understand your choice :) However, I would never use them with suits of any kind or colour. To be fair, I could never pull off a suit and boot combo in the first place, but since this is both a derby boot, shell and has double leather soles I find it way to rustique to pair it with a suit. Unless, maybe, if it's a full tweed suit, if that's your bag. Good luck with the purchase! :)

@matsuito , I think that Harlechs are amazing (don't own a pair....yet). They are an awesome boot that would be super versatile. I DO think they would work with suits, but only on the casual spectrum. Like S K M said, they would work well with tweed. They would work with most casual outfits. Blazer and odd trousers. I would wear them to in situations with a suit, but then again I don't work in a formal law firm or something like that.

It depends on where you live too. Where I live, they would be considered super formal, since I live in a place where fashion is held in low regard. In NYC, things might be different.

Overall, I think they would be suitable anywhere you would wear a cap toe derby, as that is what they are going to look like when you've got pants on.

Great choice I am thinking about purchasing the same boot in rough-out nubuck. Do you know what last your boot is built on?

    Thanks, guys.

    Laufer, I'm pretty sure it's the 325.
I followed the Lindrick sizing conventions from Namor's RL spreadsheet. These are UK9.5E; my U.S. size is generally 10.5D.
They fit well, with a comfortable, roomy toe.

Thank you so much. It seems to be a bit taller than regular coniston as it has 5 instead of 4 speed-hooks. I will be getting one of those boots too, 325 fits me fine.
Good choice and I am happy to hear that they fit.

@Beane my Tetbury boots in dark brown suede have worn in nicely after 12 months and don't have any obvious "ogly creases". While Tetbury boots may be a common sight in the UK and the USA, they're an extremely rare boot in wilds of New Zealand down under and often receive compliments. You can't go wrong with either Chelsea 3 or Tetbury -- both are fine ankle boots.

Hi all I'm new to this board. I was wondering I picked up a pair of burgundy Hallam C&J at the weekend and wondered if anyone knew if that combo was made for a specific market as I'd not seen them before or if they were a custom combo?
