Doesn't do it for me, more fresh out of college than 20 year vet. I'd opt for solid red or navy with red polka dot.

What they said. I'd go with a solid primary color, but in any event definitely not the one you posted.

Arent you like 15 or 16? Don't really understand your need for a "power tie" at that age. Not trying to be a dick, just trying to understand your intent.

I'm debating tomorrow as a class project.
The teacher knows me and actually asked me to do my best "Who's that analylist on Tv Kuddy. no Kutlow''

Sorry, no. Not really. That tie says "prep school" to me.

    My personal choices:

    1. Navy with narrow pink stripes
    2. Navy with small white polka dots
    3. Burgundy patterned tie

ok cool. Like others have said that tie looks more like an east coast prep school tie. Easiest thing to go with would be the suggestion of solid primary color like navy or red

I think I'm going to do a yellow with a tonal circle pattern to it.

Kudlow wears a lot of neats and solids. Stripes, not so often.

I don't know who Kudlow is but he seems to favor a spread collar when I looked him up on Google Images.

Just don't wear a tie from a British club, school (prep school), university or military unit you did not attend or serve in. Our cousins from across the pond will ask you about it when you meet.

Want the perfect power tie? Don't wear one. Show them SOB's who's boss.

    First impressions count.

    Thus:

    Navy with iron spikes

    Navy with penises

    The choice is yours.

    What is a power tie?

I think it's a tie that tricks you into believing that your penis is larger than the next guy's. Truth to tell, I have no idea.

It's a hangover from the 80s, when "power breakfasts" and "power lunches" and such were all the rage. It sounded just as stupid and dated then too.

I remember reading once that "power ties" were generally yellow. Frankly, I never thought the concept merited serious attention.
