People with Blazer jackets, do you cut open the pockets that are sewn shut?

    I dont get why they had to be shut in the first place? I just bought my first blazer and im wondering about this.

    Of course. I believe they do that to help the jacket retain its shape during shipping.

    Yes - you're supposed to write a wish on a slip of paper, place it in the pocket, and then have your tailor sew it shut again.
