Idiotic comments...and I'm and Englishman defending Italy here.

I have been ripped off once, and guess what -- it was from an italian seller.
I frequently see merchandise in italy that either is marked wrong or they lied in the ad. Pricing is often higher.

Don't know why my comment sparked such vitriol, many people have bought items they never received and were put off by the seller until it was too late to file a claim. I have no particular interest or stock in an 'IT vs USA' postal service debate. I am sure the item will show. It's not a bad idea to cover your bases though when you are spending money.

^^^ As someone who has done business extensively in Italy, has lived in Italy, is fluent in Italian and has lived in every continent except Antarctica, Italian mail is not on par with the rest of the FIRST world. This is a fact. Period.

Now that said, THE PROBLEM BEING EXPERIENCED BY THE PERSON IN QUESTION IS NOT DUE TO THE ITALIAN POSTAL SERVICE. I AM CONFIDENT THAT IT IS US CUSTOMS/US "SECURITY". THAT IS THE RELEVANT FACT HERE.

Ich, you are always ready to attack others. Have you considered meds? alexsf you are deluded.

In a study by Oxford Strategic Consulting (Dec 2011) Italy's Poste Italiane was rated worse than Russia and Brazil for efficiency and performance, and performs worse than any G8 country.

In defense of Ich, if his only other experience is Royal Mail then maybe Italian post is an improvement.

Even using our military FPO it takes at least 2 weeks, sometimes more. Don't worry too much yet!

The Italians are fond of their coffee/smoke breaks so everything takes longer here. I'm sure it will be coming soon!

While Italian mail is among the worst in the world, I believe US customs is to blame here. They have become exceedingly bad of late - especially the past few years with the dawn of the police state. I have had packages sit there for weeks and weeks. USPS is clueless too when this happens. My advice, just be patient.

I just called to see what the wait might be in US Customs. The lady said "7-10 days". I said "But I had the package sent expedited. It's supposed to take no more than 4 days!" Apparently, it's 4 days, not including time spent in customs. That was from Canada, another NAFTA country. I got a package, ordered the same day, (the 28th of December,) yesterday. Fedex has never taken more than 3-4 days to get here from Europe, and that's the economy option. The fast options? I've gotten packages in 2 days, and I live in the middle of nowhere. Moral of the story is that a service like UPS or Fedex is completely worth it. You might pay 30 Euros additional, but you never get more than you pay for (though sadly, the converse is not always true.)

^Unfortunately they aren't only 30 Euro more.

As I have writed some post ago Fedex, UPS etc. prices are proibitive here without a contract subscription.

These are the prices calculated for the same shipment, and they don't need any comments :embar:
