The only way I would consider a woman unattainable would be if she was dead, and even then I might consider getting a shovel...[IMG]

No wench is out of my league. I am capable of nailing every chick I lay my eyes on.

    Have you tried? You'd fail.

Also, Figure this: Sometimes hot chicks can be easily led too.

this is my belief, and you may agree with me in 10 years, or you may not. but, for instance, i dated a truly gorgeous woman once, and she was very high maintainance, and I think she was so because she knew she could be

I've had this experience too. And the experience of trying to start something and (thankfully) realizing she was like that and walking away. Note: I did not learn a lesson from this--the worst was the most recent.

Regarding attitude, intelligence, character, etc. I'm in the top flight league. Attractiveness? Maybe in the second division I think. But I would classify those women in the highest league as sometimes knowing they are there. Ugh.

Your sarcasm detector is almost as thoroughly broken as Jovan's. Might want to look to that. Really, I do find it interesting that no one here has realized that "leagues" and "classes" are all part of a very particular view of relationships and human intimacy, and though it is entirely dominant in our culture, it is by no means the only one.

What I wanted to say is... as an MIT alumni, I used to live in a very wierd environment with lots of great, smart guys, many good looking, but socially challanged, and also with lots of women (now the male-female ratio for undergrads is 50-50 and 80-20 for grads), most of which are unattractive and also socially challanged. Well, what happens is that the hot girls could get anyone, the ok ones could still get anyone, and the ugly ones... well, they can't get anyone, not a single one, no matter of the guys' looks. The worse thing that can happen to you is to be an ugly girl. Now, they would be dating out of their league. I can only guess that this can happen to men too -- to be dating out of their league.

As another MIT alumnus, I find your recollection of the campus pretty inaccurate. First off, I can tell you that there is no such thing as a 'hot' girl who attends MIT; even if there were, she probably would not have her choice of guys - the vast majority of girls who attend MIT just plain do not have interesting personalities and are a little socially awkward.

The bottom line is that most of the guys who aren't socially awkward quickly figure out that they can do much better by seeking out girls from other schools (BU, Wellesley, BC, etc.) I would say your experience is consistent with living on campus, perhaps, but it is certainly not true that there are average girls at MIT who can get 'anyone.' In my experience, it was the guys who had much more of the 'choosing' power, mainly because they were more attractive than the girls and had a great variety of girls to choose from, given the many other schools in the area. The girls on the other hand, were totally screwed, because no from another school is going to date a mediocre girl who attends MIT.

And as for the question posed in this thread. Sure - there are certain 'leagues' of attractiveness that exist, but remember - women place less emphasis on physical attractiveness than men do, and often seek other qualities such as intelligence, charm, humor, power, and CONFIDENCE. Attractiveness is not encompassed by purely physical traits, and thus said 'leagues' might be more artificially constructed in the male mind than they actually exist in reality.

I like to think I have a shot with any girl. What's the worst that could happen?

Ah women, can't live with 'em, can't kill 'em and bone their corpses. At least, not for more than about a week...
