a part of what we choose to wear (no matter how small a part it is) is about getting noticed. are you telling me you like well fitting clothing for no other reason than how it looks in the mirror? you've posted waywt pictures before, so I know that's not true.

Yeah, but there is a difference between being noticed for dressing well and for dressing terribly bad. You can't tell me that dude is going to be noticed for dressing well.

Originality is good, but if the outfit isn't aesthetically pleasing the originality is useless.

There is no universal standard of 'aesthetically pleasing'. This forum represents an extremely narrow spectrum, and it's refreshing to have someone who wears something outside of that spectrum post. I don't think I would see Neo's outfit and vomit in disgust then try to blind myself, I'd probably go 'woah that's pretty neat' and would only have this opinion reinforced by all the cool back stories many of his items seem to have.

Just took a browse through some of his fits to see if my general opinion was justified. Actually he's done more right than I recall, I guess the worst ones just stick out in my mind... but the worst ones are really, really awful. Again in my opinion and with no personal offense meant as neofinitia seems like a good guy. I understand what rye means about the 6 year old thing, a lot of these fits just seem so utterly and offensively random, like you have a giant wheel on it with articles of your clothing and you spin it a few times and put on whatever it stops on. Horrendous http://i135.photobucket.com/albums/q.../WAYWT-138.jpg Interesting in a good way http://i135.photobucket.com/albums/q.../WAYWT-140.jpg Horrendous http://i135.photobucket.com/albums/q.../WAYWT-139.jpg Cool http://i135.photobucket.com/albums/q.../WAYWT-132.jpg Dear god what is that thing http://i135.photobucket.com/albums/q.../WAYWT-158.jpg I have some issues but applaud the idea http://i135.photobucket.com/albums/q.../WAYWT-129.jpg Horrendous, awful, kill me http://i135.photobucket.com/albums/q.../WAYWT-128.jpg No problems here, and I like the shoes http://i135.photobucket.com/albums/q.../WAYWT-126.jpg What in the hell were you thinking http://i135.photobucket.com/albums/q.../WAYWT-152.jpg Interesting http://i135.photobucket.com/albums/q.../WAYWT-173.jpg Most of the very worst involve these boots in some way http://i135.photobucket.com/albums/q.../WAYWT-159.jpg I'm not one to jump on people for doing something different. I actually appreciate a "wow that's ridiculous and awesome at the same time, but I sure as hell could never wear it" kind of look, which unfortunately are rarer now... remember maharlika though? He didn't bat 1000 but he consistently had unique, solid fits. [IMG] [IMG] That has some coherence and perspective behind it (despite the fact that I couldn't wear a single piece in either of those two fits)... a lot of the above, from where I sit, isn't so much eccentic as bizzare, not so much unorthodox as disorganized. PS in trying to find those maharlika fits I realized that around 80% of this thread has taken place in the last year. What the hell happened?

Indeed. How I wish it was at least an eighth of the strength as Sensei Shinjo's or his brother.

I was in NYC this past weekend so Socal missed his chance. [If that's any indication.]
