Got the ToKiTo tweed jacket for winter. Fantastic piece but feels a bit big. Any options for tailoring it?

Looks ok to me, sort of the way I'd want my Beaufort to fit, assuming you intend to do some layering underneath. If anything, perhaps shorten the sleeves just a bit?

Otherwise, that's one badass jacket. The bad news is that it almost calls for upgrading your pants and hat. Denim and an orange watch cap don't quite cut it with such a spiffy garment. What would Bond wear with that? Wool flannel, probably, or at the very least, cords.

I'd say it's too big, re: Beufort. Even sizing down the sleeves should be fine. I think you've missized.

    ToKiTo looks good though.

Thanks! It really is impressive and the sleeves are the part that's bothering me the most so I'll look into that :) I agree that this is not the best look for this jacket, but I don't have anything yet that matches it properly :D Any suggestions for individual pieces that might work?

I'm with DC Office Hack, looks good with the exception of the long sleeves. My Sapper fits well everywhere with the exception of the long sleeves. Fortunately it has cord lined cuffs so I can roll them once and it looks OK.

I have no experience with tailoring but I would guess that they would shorten the length from the shoulder? Or will it be easier to just shorten them up to the sleeve straps?

PSA from the Manhattan Sales Alert Thread:

I think this depends on what you plan on wearing underneath the jacket. I personally would not be happy with this fit.

It'll be more expensive and difficult to do the former rather than the latter.

anyone have the measurements for the james bond tokito jacket?

i'm 5'9" 170lbs with broad shoulders (top heavy from working out)
i have ordered it in Large but want to change the pre-order to a MEDIUM - would this be smart?

i recently ordered a quilted barbour tokito in large and am not happy with the fit as i think its a bit too long. i understand the james bond jacket is tailored more tight though, and the quilted jackets are designed loosely..But I am still curious if medium would be a better purchase.

    thanks

I have measurements from the Small and Medium ones I sold a few weeks ago
    Small
    19.5" pit to pit
26" sleeve from shoulder to cuff
    16.5" shoulders
    27" length

    Medium
    20.5" pit to pit
26.5" sleeve from shoulder to cuff
    17.5" shoulders
    28" length

Im guessing neither will help much. You probably need an XL.

This is my build, so I would be interested in this answer...my guess is we are a mix of both m and L unfortunately.

Everything I've read indicated that it runs small.

Seems medium is fine. I don't get why u think I would be an XL. The back measurement is important to me. Having a coat that goes below ur butt looks retarded. Only measurement I'm concerned about is the shoulder but these cotton jackets will stretch.

I've yet that too but seems like speculation. I believe the style is slim as opposed to regular fit so people think they need to order a size larger. Order according to measurements...

I'd be wearing, most of the time, a thin to medium sweater over a shirt. I don't own any really chunky sweaters, although this coat has me thinking that maybe I need a shetland. I'd like to pick up a liner. And sometimes I'd wear it with a sportcoat. As is, I'm pretty sure I can fit all that under this coat. I don't know about the 40. I guess what I need to do is show up at a Barbour store with a sportcoat and try some different sizes on.
