They rejected my request to not have logos. ....polite, but firm.

Finally got my boots. I ordered a Cuban heel which they did not add and am probably going to send them back to add that.

Decision point though is I wanted these for winter use and the block heel does feel more sturdy than my Whites Cuban.

I'm thinking I may prefer the Whites arch ease on the semi dress last. These are definitely a different feel than the Whites.

Dark blue or light blue laces?

5” Falcon (one piece heel and backstay)
    Brown waxed flesh
    Leather toe cap
    antique hardware - all eyes
    Natural edge
    Single celastic
    Cuban heel base
Commando mini lug sole - Vibram #1273

I like the look of these boots...how long did you wait for them? I am waiting on some, but it's only been a couple months, so I figure I probably have at least a couple more months to go.

On the lower heels, I personally think the Cuban heel can look a bit odd. Also, I don't think it makes as much of a functional difference at lower heel heights, in terms of altering where your boots contact the ground relative to your heel. If you really didn't like the block heel, they might do a straight tapered heel, as opposed to the concave curved Cuban heel, perhaps called a "dogger heel?"

Again, I think these look great. I might have wanted a shorter cap toe, but that's not a big deal. I think you did well choosing the commando mini-lug sole, which give the boot a lot of character...

At least in the light in your photos, I'm not sure that either of the blue laces complement the brown. I'm not against blue and brown, but I might try green or yellow instead, while still keeping things lively...I've got a rainbow of laces.

I was waiting on these for 8 months, but they did have to order the leather and this was in between the factory move. They are hoping to get back to 10 - 12 week wait times in the near future.

I think you are right that the cap is a bit long. And that is a good thought about the lower cuban. My White's with their arch have a slightly higher heel. I guess I'm leaning towards keeping them as is because this lower block heel does provide stability.

I'll wear them some more and see what I think. I appreciate the laces suggestion, I'm just not bold enough to wear the green or yellow. If I had to choose, I'd probably pick green.

I always have a pain at ball of my feet when wear and walked in Robert for longer than 6 hrs, it feels "STIFF" from under. Anybody experienced with this problem? Still no idea how to fix it

Anyone whose ordered recently, how long have you been waiting? I'm just trying to get a general consensus. I ordered on April 23rd. I was told last week it would be another two to three weeks. It puts me at about 16 weeks.

Nicks Boots are for working your as• off and the leathers are tough as a result.
I bought some second hand gently used Hotshots in black a standard color.
Standard 10D boot from a Firefighter or some such shit off eBay.
    My Impressions ....Not a Review
    Wow I Love Them.
The Shaft is super stiff with a great gusset inside.
The footbed egh honestly leaves a little to be desired
the arch is not as steep to me as a pair of Hathorns I owned also( gave them away). In the description off their web site they say the drop is 1" it takes a little getting used to but ...I have stopped wearing all my Beloved Danners.
Nicks says give the 80 hours to break in. I am at about 35 hours being that Ga summers do not lend them selves to sturdy leather boots in the 100 degree weather. I am convinced these are 20 year boots with a planned as warranted new sole by Nicks.

I posted in an independent thread and realized that there is already a Nicks thread. Sorry! Here are my Nicks I received last July. Love them:

Recently acquired Roberts in olive CXL. Close trim, 6" high, soft toe, and all eyelets. I gotta say, I really really dig these boots

Nice choice. I've been wanting that leather ever since I first laid eyes on it.

How long was the build time?

Thx man. The time for me was immediate- got em second hand! Their current wait times are crazy long tho. I've got a buddy that's been waiting over 15mos for a pair, which is overkill and the exception, but last I checked with Kyle the lead time was about 26wks which is still completely insane IMO

WEll enjoy and nice move getting them on the secondary market.

I really really wanted them but after my experience of waiting more that half a year I decided to go in another direction with my next pair of boots, probably White's again.
