What kind of fireworks was he using?

Goddamn. Can he get fake fingers put in? Would that be legal in the NFL to have prosthetics?

Jim Nantz trolled Jamaal Charles hard last night. After that 2nd fumble that led to the game-sealing TD, Charles slammed his helmet on the sideline and Nantz said, "at least he held onto the helmet."

After watching that first quarter I was convinced Peyton's days of being Peyton Manning were over. Guess I turned the game off too early!

Almost as bad as Chris carter's son tripping during his route and the announcer- 'when the ball's thrown your way, you can't be the fall guy'

I think someday we will be able to mute individual announcers on broadcasts. Like you could be watching Yankees' baseball and mute Michael Kay but still get Coney and O'Neill. That would be a slightly more perfect world.

Pics of JPP hands are out. Apparently has 3 1/2 fingers or so left on the hand.

he had a tweet yesterday along the lines of ~ luckily i don't tackle people with my fingers

which is true. his injury would be much more devastating for a WR/QB rather than a DL.

He's definitely going to have to always play on the left side. With a stub of a thumb and no index finger he'd have a harder job grabbing a guy outside of him on his right side.

That's true, of course. But linemen do use their hands a lot in blocking or trying to fend off blocks, and (somewhat less likely) I can imagine that for some people it could throw off their balance or leverage coming out of a three-point stance. Never having played defensive line at a level beyond undergrad intramural flag football, I don't have a great sense of how much of issue it likely will or won't be.

Also, I can think of plenty of times when a lineman's ability to reach out and grab the QB or RB makes the difference between whether or not he makes the tackle.

It has to hurt his play at least somewhat. Maybe not too much, but I still think he was stupid to be playing with fireworks.

Is it just me, or has the NFL become virtually unwatchable because of the toxic levels of Matthew McDouchaghy Lincoln commercials? FFS.

I'll take the W, but I think the Patriots tried to get a bit too cute a couple times. Almost burned them.
