I absolutely hate plastic furniture. You should look into the Taliesin, Barrel, Robie (all by FLW) or Mackintosh chairs, all made of wood and can be upholstered with leather or fabric.

How about a mix of Wegner chairs? Some Wishbone and some Round Chairs

but as for updates

found a rug, bedding, some storage options including a simple night stand idea that i like

also found from Inhabit some hanging panels that I'm using in lieu of the closet doors that i took off and put under the bed

Simple and elegant. Also very comfortable. I worked at a showroom back home and these were a big hit.

That said, our chairs arent all that comfortable.
