Hi, sorry for the lack of full scanlations of MEN's EX articles as I initially planned (busy busy). But here is a mini-scanlation from the latest MEN'S EX issue that came out a few days ago. It's on the news that the new C&J (HandGrade line) model Audley III on Last 367 has just arrived. I just translated the main points of the article from Japanese.

from MEN's EX Oct Issue (9/06/11 pub)

"Emergency News: The new evolved model of the classic C&J 'Audley', the 'AUDLEY III' has Arrived!"

and here are my translation of the main difference between Audley and the new Audley III, from page 2

From the article, it seems like Audley III is on sale only in Japan. Also available in Chestut. Priced at 76,550 yen ($994 USD)

3 other models in Last 367 is also available there, including an equally alluring BELGRAVE III

Thanks so much for the information. Not sure if they are for Japanese market only.

Great job. You make really valuable contributions to this forum.

I've always had success with lasts that are made for the Japanese market so hopefully they won't be too hard to track down.

I think that's a Japan only model. AFAIK, East Asians usually have narrower heels and wider balls.

It would be great if they could make more 348/358 last instead of 337. And bring Avebury and other Purple Collections here to US or back to UK...

EDIT: C&J seems to be allocating a lot of their production capacities for foreign markets where they get a fairly high premium than selling in the UK.

    Thanks for the comments!

367 is based on 337. Should 'look' no different from 337 when worn. The toe shape remains unchanged, only the latter half is modified for comfort. The article claims that the last 367 is specifically designed for smaller heel of Japanese, which could mean most East Asians in general? I kinda see China in C&J's future

Hmm 367 looks slightly fuller in toe and the forefoot areas compare to 337.

Don't think China is ready yet for western style menswear. Even Taiwan is fairly behind in finer things in life.

It's over $900 USD a pair in Japan, and I sense from reading shoe forums on 2ch that quite a few Japanese are also quite good at tracking down cheaper overseas online outlets :D

    Thanks VRaivio! Oshinex!!

Anyone have a suggestion on how to obtain the shoe from USA.?
That narrow heel cup would fit my foot well.

I've got my eye out for these too but I'm not sure if they're in stores yet -- I haven't been able to find them on any japanese sites. Hopefully they'll show up on Rakuten or some other large websites at some point. Keep in mind that most places won't stock larger than UK9 or UK9.5. Even if you find them in your size though, the biggest problem from the US is going to be the strong Yen. It puts the price pretty close to $1000.

exactly, with that price, I might just get 2 pairs of Handgrade shoes in 337 :D
does C&J take direct orders from UK?

in Taiwan? You got it right on: Santoni, Testoni, John Lobb, also Loake, Brooks Brothers (for some Aldens), not sure but RL here possibly stocks EG made shoes?.......I've also seen some Trickers before in one store.....also plenty of Regal (Japanese), usual big brands like LV/Gucci/Ferragamo/Zegna/Dunhill.....and yeah, if you're interested, the 2 big Taiwanese shoe brands are called La New and A-so :D

oh yeah? would you mind telling me where the Alden store is? Feal free to PM me pleez :)
yeah, i saw the link from earlier posts somewhere about the blog made by that Taiwanese shoemaker, looks quite promising!

yeah, there's plenty of dealers in Japan who import (or simply purchase at retail price) high end shoes and selling them with some premium on yahoo auction, not sure you're talking about those kinda dealers in taiwan...
