Anyone have the new Vertuoline machine? Put one on the wedding registry last night. I love my Pixie but I like the idea of the machine making coffee as well as espresso.

Yeah Ive had one since May. I love it.
I think there's a bunch of people in here with one.
Obv the capsules are more expensive which sucks, and if you're after accessories then there aren't many for the vertuoline and they mostly suck. But in terms of actual coffee it's awesome.

I don't know. I tried the coffee from the new machines, and while it is good, it isn't the style I normally drink when I prepare regular coffee. I like a lot of body, and chocolatey kind of coffees like Sumatras, Kenyans, darker roasted Ethiopians, and Yemens. The coffee this machine makes is very "American" if that makes any sense.

That makes sense and I can live with that. I prefer the espressos so I doubt I drink as much of the coffee but having that option all in one machine is appealing. I'm used to drinking "American" coffee from a Bunn coffee machine at work Monday through Friday anyway.

There are so many more options in the standard line for espresso though.

i have one that i got from william sonoma, and i like it alot! makes a great strong cup of coffee or a great espresso. the pods can get a bit expensive but still cheaper than starbucks and dont have to leave the house. If i have guest over that want coffee, i use my french press though..[IMG]

I have a Pixie which I will keep until they release more espresso for the vertuoline, assuming they will.

Anybody tried the Maragogype special release that just came out? $2/pod. Might grab a sleeve along with an order before all the prices go up.

Is that why my order was so expensive? I had them throw in two sleeves and didn't really notice how much I paid until I got home.

    It's good. Don't think it's $2 good.

25% off Nespresso machines at Whole Latte Love

EDIT : actually everywhere.... looks like that's a Nespresso promotion, not retailer specific

Current LE: Monsoon Malabar. Nice choice. I'll probably have to wait until July to try it but I'll definitely tell my mother to order a bunch.

    Has anyone tried this stuff?

I picked up the new decaf Arpeggio and it's pretty good, quite similar to the ordinary Arpeggio. That and the Intenso are the only decafs that I liked. Most of the others are just weak tasting.

My mom likes it. I'll get to try it in ~3.5 months. I'll report back.

Yeah well, I still don't really want to be a coffee drinker but whatever... don't need the extra buzz or nothing. I just like drinking them. Will probably pick up a few decaffeinated ones so i can continue being a straight-edge kinda guy.
