dwade and lebron are both out and the heats are still neck and neck with the hawks. i dont think there's a better team out there right now

double overtime, some terrible calls, and all the clocks are all out now. great game

heats won in triple overtime. ridic

heats beat the hawks without lebron and wade. that's just crazy

Good win for the Heat, those two should sit out for as long as necessary... this cramped schedule is ridic

I can imagine the headlines, had the Heat failed to secure a win ... about Miami having a Big 2.25 instead of Big 2.5

Results says more about the Hawks, who have All-Star talent on their team, than it does about the Heat's roster

well chris bosh tends to get overshadowed by lebron and dwade, but dude is extremely talented too. him and chalmers (!) really made the night. hawks just weren't hitting their shots tonight

also lakers got owned by the blazers. blazers are going places. i wouldn't be surprised to see them win the western conference. it's just sad that when all the pieces finally got in place brandon roy wasn't able to get in on it

Portland seems to be succeeding because of their depth. and finally developing an every-night star in Lamarcus Aldridge.

Miami hopefully can follow suit and get meaningful contributions even as they go 9 to 10 deep. the role players plus Bosh really stepped it up last night but it's one game. we'll see.

i'm one of Bynum's biggest detractors on this thread, but even i have to admit that he's been kicking ass since returning from suspension. maybe time to trade him? :D

gerald wallace is way outperforming aldridge stats and intangibles. and aldridge is indeed amazing

bynum this season is rapidly becoming a breakout all star. and so is kyle lowry. lowry is one of the most underrated guards out there and he's pulling near triple doubles constantly

I just cringe when I realize that, at some point, he's gonna get hurt.

It's like allowing yourself to fall for a girl you KNOW is going to break your heart at some point.

i really like portland. lot of good, tall athletes and they press. don't really need a kobe or a bynum when you've got 8 guys who are 6-8 and can jump and shoot ... and will hustle on every play.

Its really a travesty how little credit Nate McMillian gets for crafting a consistent winner out of a bunch of spare parts.

it's hard to think of a franchise that has been more snake-bit, but still managed to play at a high level.

to think that 5, 6 years ago portland was really suffering from pr issues, off court drama (bankruptcy, players and coaches fighting, players like z. bo with terrible work ethic)

they've also always had terrible luck with drafting (sam bowie instead of michael jordan, greg oden instead of kevin durant or al horford) and injuries (brandon roy :( )

it's nice to finally see a good team going. i haven't been this excited for the blazers since the early nineties with clyde drexler, buck williams etc

Spare parts? I wouldn't go that far but I give them credit for pulling out wins despite injuries, there was a point last year where they had half their roster hurt.

They don’t have a huge star now outside of Aldridge but Wallace, Matthews, Batum & Felton are legit starters. Crawford is also starter caliber and a true scorer. Hardly spare parts in my eye. Camby and Thomas are old (combined age of 70+?) but they can still go for another year or two.

If it wasn't for all the bullshit drama with the lockout and the resulting consequence of missing camp etc, the shorter season would actually be nice. Who really wants to watch 82 games? Late December to July makes for a decent length season.

Bynum's stats this year are very similar to early Shaq. 22 PPG, 16 rebounds, 3 blocks, 60% from the field and 55% from the charity stripe. He is also playing alongside a star PF. He would pick up at least a half dozen more points and a few more rebounds without Gasol.

    Lakers stats from this year:
    http://www.nba.com/lakers/stats/index.html
They should be doing much better than 4-4. They are shooting .459 from the field. If you take away Kobe(7-37), MWP( 2-17), and Fishers(1-11) 3 pointers they are a shooting a solid 500.:wow:
I haven't seen that from the Lakers in years.

I'm liking andrew's touch and aggressiveness lately and dare I say Brown's coaching thus far.

I don't know about Brown. He makes too many needless substitutions. I am also upset that he hasn't found a solid rotation or even settled on a small forward.
