He did have more than a 4 word post a while back. But I bet someone translated and typed it for him.

The Spurs didn't trade Manu Ginobili for a 6th round draft pick.:foo:

Would Bynum, Gasol, and the Mavs 1st round draft pick be worth Paul and Emeka Okafor?

i would say no. if you think about their original trade, they were essentially just trading gasol for paul. because as we found out later, trading odom was just a salary dump. in the original trade, they traded out $25M and took back $16M and still ended up with the best player in the deal.

so now with this new deal, they're trading more and saving less. if you have to give up pau and bynum, i'd rather do it for howard.

edit: i was looking at this from the lakers perspective and if it was worth it for them to make that trade. but yeah, they'd be overpaying.

also, if the nets end up getting howard for a paltry gerald wallace + brook lopez combo then the lakers would have to be kicking themselves. that's just highway robbery. shit, if i was rebuilding a team, i'd rather just have bynum alone than gerald wallace + brook lopez.

totally cereal. if rebuilding, gerald wallace is completely superfluous and bynum's ceiling is higher than lopez's. obviously, bynum is more of a gamble. but if i'm rebuilding, what do i have to lose? (except my job as a GM.)

edit: then again, if i can flip gerald wallace for some draft picks, then that route might be worth it.

I'd take Wallace & Lopez base on Bynums history alone. Lopez is a bonafide 20/8 guy, healthy is a year younger than Bynum. Wallace was averaging 18/10 himself at one point w/ the Bobcats and can easily get 16/8 in any team, a forward that can steal and block and out hustle any player on the court. So I would take those two than the immature, idiotic, injury prone Bynum.

i just think the ceiling is so much higher for bynum. lopez seems like the classic case of putting up numbers on a bad team. those 20 points have to come from somewhere. he averaged just 6 rebounds a game last year in 35 mins per game. and he's a 7 footer! then again, at least he played 35 mins a game.

also, i thought gerald wallace was like 32. turns out he's only 29 (but he's been in the league for 10 years.) i still think he's a great player to have on a contender, but pretty useless if i'm rebuilding.

think of it this way, if i'm the lakers and i was offered lopez and wallace for bynum, i would definitely take it. but if i'm starting from scratch, i'd rather have bynum.

    A lot.

Try having a shit team with empty stands for 5 or 6 seasons.

I'm just saying, Odens potential and ceiling is high too but it ain't worth shit if their not on the court.

But you said rebuilding with those 2 over Bynum so I'd take the 2 over Bynum. If you said take either Brooks or Wallace over Bynum to build a team over, I'd agree with you but those two is much better than Bynum. Just add a decent PG like Deron or CP3 plus some decent to good role players and that's a playoff contender.

if the bynum experiment fails miserably, at least i would bottom out completely and get a high lottery pick as opposed to winning 30 games a year and still have no one come to my games.

I don't know. What marquee free agents are really going to Orlando? They all want to play in major markets with other marquee players these days. Unless they love sunshine and no state tax, I don't see who'se willing to come to Orlando to play with Brook Lopez and Gerald Wallace.

Orlando's best bet is to go with the OKC and SAS model of building thorugh the draft. They struck gold with getting Howard in the lottery and made it to the finals, but they didn't really make the smartest moves after that.

Lebron, Wade, Bosh, all chose Miami over New York, Chicago, New Jersey,...
