Anyone familiar with the indigo corduroy weird guy? If I buy I can't return, and although the weird guy khaki fit perfectly when I squeeze in a 29, I'm worried the different fabric will have zero give at the waist on these corduroy ones. I like sizing down to 29 in N&F because it results in a slimmer leg, but I don't wanna be hooped if the waist is too small.

Don't think anyone got to my question from before so I'll throw it out there one more time:

The tailor screwed up on hemming my jeans and made them about 3/4" too short. They fit perfectly now with a 1" cuff, but I'm worried that they might shrink to become too small after the first wash.

Can anyone comment on how much 12 oz denim will shrink in a cold delicates cycle? I've read that N&F denim shrinks anywhere from none (less than .5") to a lot (1" or more). Is it also possible to stretch the inseam to fit right after washing like the tag says? Should I hang dry upside down to minimize shrinking?

As soon as you take them ou of the wash/soak, stretch out the legs with your hands along the inseam. You can also stand on the waist and pull the legs up to stretch them out to minimize shrinkage.

CalTex, shouldnt you leave that for the Momotaro or Contest thread? This isnt the appropriate thread to advertise your contest.

The cords are super soft and dark. They are indigo dyed and should fade like indigo denim, but I haven't seen any beat up pairs yet... the style is from the current season and is still pretty new.

Sorry, I was more concerned with the fit. I size down to a 29 in the weird guy chinos (e.g., the green khaki), even though its tight on the waist. I like the slimmer leg from sizing down. So I was wondering if I'd be able to size down (with a 29) and squeeze into the cords, or if the nature of the fabric wouldn't let me do this and I'll be stuck with the top two buttons undone.

Eek, Thankgiving mishap! My wife dumped a whole pot of dirty dish water on me. My Red Cores are only about 4 mos old. Washing them right now. We'll have to see how it turns out. That's life right???

@ ykim, just hand wash your jeans in cold water and then hang them by the leg opening. They shouldnr shrink much. I always wash my deep indigos in the hottest tap water A and the inseam didnt shrink any noticable amount.

That's definitely reassuring. If yours didn't shrink much in a warm-hot hand wash, I don't think a cold delicates cycle will do much, especially if I stretch the inseam out like crazy as soon as I take them out of the wash.

We'll just have to see in a few months. :)

I was kind of stupid and ordered my NFxONI tts so I didn't bother pre-soaking them and now they're really dirty after about 4-5 months and I'm scared of washing them because I won't fit into them anymore if they shrink and I've become pretty sentimentally attached to the pants. Crotch is still in really good condition though. The backside belt loop is almost worn-down which looks cool.

Yeah that's life, my nephew ruined one of my brothers costs playing "dress" up. Most expensive memory of the year.

and in the future, don't be afraid of soaking your jeans off the bat...

    ...

or just don't buy them so tight! (longer I'm on the boards the less I understand this trend of shoving your junk into the tightest space possible, and then being frightened when you necessarily in the course of life have to WASH YOUR DENIM.

No more glow in the dark in WeirdGuy. We've only got them in SkinnyGuy now. You can try sizing up 1.
