Has anyone been able to get a reply from Dino over the past weeks? I've been trying to contact them for a while but no reply! As a previous customer I find it a bit strange, as it wasn't their habit. If someone has been able to get any reply from them recently, I'd appreciate to know. Thanks!

Thanks! So just wait and resend the message again? (Although I've already done that at least a couple of times since November !)

I tried Dino about 4 times over the past 2 months and I finally heard back from him about 10 days ago. And this was on details for projects currently in production, where one would assume timing is a bit more critical...

Hmm, I've aso tried to contact them a number of times as potentially new customer and I've never heard back. I'm going to Naples in spring, so I might just chose to turn up at their shop. However, would like to know in advance if a basted fitting is possible on an extended weekend, and if copying a pair of (bespoke) trousers is possible as part of their new M2M option...

Anyone has experience with NSM's MTM programme? How many styles to chose from/what can be customized?

I finally got response from them (cf. my post above) but communication is rather slow to say the least. Will visit them in April but not sure if I should go bespoke since I only stay for four days.

    Thanks in advance! :)

If going in person in Naples have considered a proper Sartoria where the owner is also the cutter? If prearranged most will accommodate all the necessary fittings in 4 days and then ship the finished jacket

Well, it's actually just three pairs of chinos I'm after since I already have an Italian tailor (though not in Naples) so NSM was my first choice due to price, abilities in English, and reliability (since they are a well-known name). But if you or anyone else have other suggestions I'd be glad to hear them :)

This seems like an odd post to make in a thread dedicated to the tailor that the op was originally interested in and enquiring about.

That is the thing, they are not tailors and to me it does not make sense to go to Naples to use a stylist service that was born to take Neapolitan tailoring to other countries.
This is not an affiliated thread and there have been critique before (the pack...ed shoulder comes to mind)

No, you are mistaken. Mina may not be the cutter/tailor at NsM (though she is trained to be), but they most certainly employ tailors in their business.

The fact that this is not an AV thread is irrelevant. Peddle your bs elsewhere.

And who told you she is a trained cutter? Who is talking BS?
And aside of what I know, go through the many pages in this thread and read the many times where clients were told that pictures and video were taken so that the cutters would see, and still garments went back and forward before they got made properly.
I will always recommend that if going to Naples it is worth visiting a proper operation where the cutter, il maestro Sarto, is the guy you deal with. If you do not go to Naples, and they come to you, they may be the best option for you, fair enough.

Are you suggesting that one would not be able to meet face to face with their cutter at NsM if visiting them in Naples? What makes you say this? Have you had this experience?

Furthermore, are you suggesting that any of the tailors you would recommend are so perfect that they have never had to make an adjustment to a garment they've made? Again, peddle your bs elsewhere.

You've made these types of remarks all over threads dedicated to specific Neapolitan tailors, and in particular, often when people discuss Mina and her work.

We all get it, you live in Naples.

I've seen your clothes. I'm not overly impressed.

Nobody has ever suggested that it is better to be fitted without the cutter present, however, you are the only one shouting that it is a fool's endeavor.

Maybe stop disparaging individuals and their businesses, unless people specifically ask for that information?

Some customers have been very happy with what they got from NSM, don't see why you have to persuade them to look for others or make these kinda posts. Unasked for to be honest.

I have had good luck with MTM jackets, but need to go bespoke for NSM trousers b/c the pattern is pretty limited in terms of adjustments and if you have big/muscular thighs, it just wont work. Honestly, i don't see it being worth the hassle of dragging fabric to Naples to maybe get 3 pairs of trousers done on a limited pattern where you aren't even sure it will work for you.

So which sartoria would you suggest for those who don't speak Italian and are reliable? WeakMonday has written up about other options such as Pirozzi, Volpe and Tofani, though I think he required help with translation at some points. I hear Elia Caliendo is quite good and even takes credit cards but appears quite expensive. Rubinacci is even more expensive and is a stylist. Ambrosi and Solito have had much discussed production and communication issues. OTOH, I hear Solito is very reliable if you are local. Formosa probably requires a translator. Panico looks really interesting but I suspect requires a translator too.
