I seem to remember Vox posting a pic of a similar abundance of suits and sports jackets.

It might be a bit O/T but I'vw been wondering what kind of decision-making process goes into selecting from such a collection.

Just from my own humble wardrobe, if there is a warm weather outdoor semi-casual event I can choose from a khaki cotton sports jacket, a white cotton picque blazer, an ecru silk sports jacket, a seersucker suit, one of four striped boating blazers ...

Such an event comes around all too infrequently in my life and deciding what to go for would be difficult. I have no idea how Vox and others with such a broad selection can get get use out of so many acquisitions but maybe my life is just boring in comparison?:)

Looking at the start of the thread I don't understand why one would give such great compliments to someone just because he owns a large number of quality shoes since that may simply reflect that this person has money to waste and developed a taste for shoes

I mean it takes '15 minutes' to learn about a few brand names and then if you have enough money you just buy the bloody things.

Open the JLP catalog and order everything that looks half decent, move to EG repeat, move to xx repeat again

Much more interesting is a collection that at least

1) Includes several good shoes that are not from the top 10 'trad' brands

2) Took some effort (financially) to put together

3) Shows good taste beyond the simple accumulation of a few pairs of each ' main type' of shoe,

I disagree. Why would "trad" brands make a difference if you are not trad?

I've been lurking here for a while now, but I had to join up so I could say that that is one of the finest things i've ever seen. Beautiful.

Its pretty funny how this is not impressive anymore after seeing what I have seen.

Was this photo taken at Aportnoy's with that carpet?

True...though I was referring to the carpet behind the kitty. :^)
