^^Snoop is more about his persona, who hasn't heard of him? He has mother goose rhymes but a unique flow and voice. Also early Dr. Dre production didn't hurt.

    +1

Also anyone who uses the phrase "hip hoppers" can not possibly be cool IRL.

:/ I don't like Snoop much but have to question that. You ever hear Murder was the Case?

Lenny Kravits . He's the Paris Hilton of music - nobody can come up with a good reason as to how or why he's famous.
    KISS - Ugh.
Neil Young. Damn near the worst performance i've ever seen.
Anything remotely related to Puff Daddy, P-Diddy, whatever his name is.
Oasis - Seriously, this is some terrible, terrible shit.
    Green Day

I've heard all his albums. He occasionally has great rhymes but I don't really listen to him for his amazing lyricism.

Rappers, Hip Hoppers, heavy metal, anyone who won their music fame through a TV game show.
Add 99% of R&B "artists" to that list and subtract metal.

The Doors' problem is all the attention garnered by Jim Morrison and his general antics overshadowing the talent of band members like Ray Manzarek. They aren't overrated, they're just on too many teen t-shirts.
Manzarek is one of my favorite musicians, ever.

You'll like this: my friend and I were in Manhattan a few years ago. Town Car driver was talking to us about Billy Joel and my friend said that he "really sucked." I thought the driver was going to pull out a gun and shoot her. You don't fuck with NYC residents and their Billy Joel love.

Many rappers aren't lyricist doesn't mean they are great or they are overrated. Slick Rick being a prime example of that. West side rapper are weird, either they pay lyrics no mind or they are nerds. Outside of the Game and Kurupt not many people who pay heed to lyricism out there it seems.

Absolutely agree with all the Bob Marley.
Also, my vote goes for DragonForce.

Snoop hasn't put out a good CD in a while. Everything after MWtC has been mediocre.

Another for the list: Joy Division

Well when I said my vote I obviously meant as most overrated. But yes, people seem to think they're good; which is just wrong. If you want to make a band entirely carried by guitars, at least use good guitarists (see Cacophony), something Herman Li will never be.

    I blame Guitar Hero.

Just about any artist who becomes wildly popular on the basis of one or two songs.

I actually like Kings Of Leon, but if I hear one more middle aged soccer mom singing Sex On Fire then I'll...I dunno, puke noodles in her face or something edgy and cool in a non-hipster way.

Bon Jovi, Meat Loaf, Coldplay...fucking housewives in high-waisted jeans music.

Beyonce and Aguilera...yeah fine, we all know you have a loud voice and can sing fifty fucking notes in the space of five seconds. Now calm the fuck down and actually perform a decent tune, sans histrionics.
