I'll put myself in as interested. Just dropped by blue owl and picked up a pair of the BOM003s this Saturday.
I believe he said couple weeks into November when my friend asked.

The 702 days for the contest is genius.

I have held off my pair of 702s knowing that this contest was in the planning (was only a few wears in when it was first muted).
No more than a dozen light wears in (to be honest i doubt even that many) - so will only allow myself a couple more before election night.
I snagged a pair of NWT RRL officer chinos of the B&S three weeks ago to keep me happy in the meantime... any excuse to buy will do :)

Maybe it would be a good idea for entrants to list some personal stats - kinda geeky
[[you could get silly and have "Like to wear them with ..... " and other silliness]]

but the basic format could be

    dusttruffle :

    702 : 34 x 32 [ 2 x 1 inch cuffs ]
    Description. Light Activity. Walker.
    Soaks : Zero
    Washes : Zero

I thought calling it an "event" kinda took away some of the competitiveness of it (which i personally like). i would like to see someone with 702 days of really gentle wear & someone kill theirdenim in 702 days, someone with no washes or soaks over 702 days, and someone with over a dozen ..... and everything in between - with lots of variation in lifestyle (why i had that listed in the "stats") ... and of course there is no reason that more harsh wear = winner. so it is just the "rub" of the green (or the indigo more precisely) how everyone's turns out. it would be a shame to have every pair beat to shit. as someone said previously the 702 days kinda kills the idea of everyday wear for most sensible people and or people with changing climate (there will, i hope, be glorious exceptions) but many / most wont be anywhere near every day. That was a really long description of why i typed "event" rather than "competition" .... my apologises. i am verbose.

Ps. 1st class of Jay / Blue Owl to step up to this as a sponsor for a prize.

just to be clear, this pair would qualify for the contest too...yes?

i don't spend much time over here but this looks fun....

EDIT: Also...as unsanforized, how much will these stretch. I'm trying to compare these to my petite standards and would like to be able to size down appropriately given the measurements on blue owl.

Jay wants to play with the big boys. :wow: :satisfied:

I don't remember calling it an event, but I might be wrong.

no you didnt, i just meant in the title when i wrote / suggested :"The Blue Owl 702 day Momotaro "Saturated" Fade Event [ Inaugurated 6th Nov 2012 ]"

i infered that suggestions for tweaks were fine, whatever is cool.

Will we be able to enter after the 6th? May have to wait a bit since I has bills, and I want to buy in with my 003's. Like will people be able to enter/ buy in after the initial Nov. 6th date? I plan on having my pair purchased hemmed and ready to go by november, but it may be later in the month.

Just ordered some 003s from Jay at Blue Owl! Can't wait till they get here and I hope I sized right. Also if anybody is interested there are fit pics of the 003 on superfuture and they got me even more excited. The denim looks beautiful and I was really curious to see how this cut fit.

I'd think you'd be fine. I don't want to discourage anyone from participating just because of a financial holdup. As long as your denim is in-line you should be fine. In the end, I doubt 2 weeks of extra wear will make all the difference in a 702 day contest.

If I buy a pair, is the chain stitching done prior to me receiving it? I've been looking at this brand and finally found this thread.
Are there any specials running around? I'm concerned about the fit.
