Why would anyone roll 3 inch into a hem? That makes absolutely no sense. They do indeed fold the denim to the inner side of the leg (though I can't say if it's a single or double fold) and then chainstitch over the folded denim, to finish the hem. No way someone's gonna fold 3 inches of denim in there. More like maybe 1 inch. I think they just had a "Let's Drink" sale at SelfEdge when Biff decided to get his jeans hemmed there.
You're right, it doesn't take 3" of extra denim to make a hem out of. 1" extra is all you need.
Hahaha... Safe bet that I own the only pair in the world... [IMG] Ya... not sure TBH... Looking into what other pairs I can get my hands on... Still somewhat undecided... Thanks for all the encouragement, dudes!
Maybe if you can't sell them, turn them into shorts for the summer?

took them in for hemming, put em on and agreed-to length seemed right -- but no measurements were taken... just by eyeballing when I had them on... picked them up last night and inseam was around 27-28... usually i'm a 31-31.5 with stacking... too short... contacted the appropriate parties... we'll see if there's anything that I can do...
Sorry to hear that... I know you said no measurements were taken, but when you said "you put them on and agreed-to length seemed right" Didn't the person/place that was hemming them make a physical mark on the jean with chalk or something? The place you took them should pay you for the jeans if they were marked with chalk where you wanted them hemmed to. Unless you just handed them the jeans and had them folded up to where you thought you wanted them hemmed to, but you folded them up to short or something, the store/person should pay for the error

Wow, those Context Momo's start to look good. Isn't that cut similar to the 0701 silhouette? Makes me think of starting on my G007's... But I need to do some more time in the straights!

The G007 is more like the 0705, so even slimmer/tighter than the 0701. It's really a shame they lay around in the closet at the moment. But my time is in the 0201's at the moment. Should add the G007 into rotation though...

So, a little update. I now have a pair in my possession. Pics to follow when i get the opportunity. TL;DR version included as well. Just got back from New York last night. Ran outta places to go in SoHo, so after Uniqlo I decided to drag my friends to BiG. I knew it was a bad idea, but uh, wanted to know if the Momo's I copped were indeed TTS, or if I got the right size in BS SW&D. Tried on the 32, fit ok. Tried on the 31 and fit was even better. [IMG] Talking to Naoki, I ended up copping a pair and having them hemmed at the store. I think my recent body recomp plan made me lose 2 inches in my waist in the past month. At this point, I can try to hotsoak/hotdry the 32's and see if they shrink a little more and keep them for a more regular fitting pair. Fit pics to follow this weekend after a soak. TL;DR: If you can, go to a store to try. the guys at BiG know what they're doing. (measuring and hemming was done in like 15 minutes) they use a ruler and talk to you about your preferences regarding stacking, shrinkage and care). That way you won't buy the wrong size and have to sell/buy another pair, and takes guestimation out of the equation. @Biff: Sorry to hear about your situation dude.

i wish i could tell you the 0705bigs shrink but you would be luck to get 3/4" shrinkage (double hot wash and high heat dryer). the nice thing though it they wont stretch out all that much. i have been wearing my pair fairly hard and only got about a 1/2" stretching the waist. but they would wear quite well as a regular fit jean. post pics when you can. isnt the denim on the 0705s fucking incredible? i still cant get over my pair. but yeah, the guys at big are the best in the world.

haha i got the 201's but i'm sure the denim is the same. to be honest, i probably am just going to keep both pairs just for luls. or even better, use one to play around with at a tailor. would it be possible to alter the 201's to get a KMW 1980 kind of feel? that would be ultimate.

fack. drew says its better to be steezin' and broke rather than a rich but horrendous dresser. i hope he was right lol.

I'm pretty sure he wore them for just under a year... yeah don't think he even made it to the one year mark, and then switched to the MomotaroXContext collab.

I think they are hanging in the shop now. Really sweet pair. He wore the shit out of them.

Yep just looked at denimdebate, he wore them for 9 months:

The are now at approximately 9 months of wear with two cold soaks. After the second soak, I rode around on my bike while they were wet to dry them and allow them to form to my body. I have yet to take post soak measurements, but I intend to. I had our denim repair specialists repair the following: usual crotch reinforcement, knee, small hole in back wallet pocket. You can see my motorcycle key breaking through in the coin pocket. I have officially retired these to the Context wall and have been wearing my Momotaro + Context Grand Indigo Selvage 0701MCXX exclusively for just over a month now. I am continually impressed with the quality of the fade that occurs in Momotaro fabric. I'll have to compile a list of substances I've spilled on my 0701′s. You'll have to stick to the list if you want to achieve the same fade qualities. Here is a short list: beer, whiskey, sawdust, coffee, blood, and greenland wax.

Check out that link, it is all his posts on that site, but shows pictures updates every few months, so you can see how they looked every few months.
