Looks like they googled "skinhead" and printed that.

Just noticed it has a crucified skinhead *girl* on the front. Copyright issues? Not for me anyway, except for burning alongside the Spirit of '69 book and the Dr Martens video.

    "Minet du Drugstore. Paris, 1969."
Sketch by an original Drugstore gang member.

The year is interesting if you compare with what was happening in England.
Bicolore brogues (Weston did some at the time), Three piece light color suit (wide lapels à la Renoma), and the (controversial) black shirt/black tie combo. Typical "minet" haircut.

No, not that i know Browniecj. From a personal point of view, even if i was a little parisian kid in the late 60s early 70s, i do remember seeing some original "minets", and this vivid sketch really brings them back to life.

    Well, they arrived - burgundy - and I'm well-impressed.

    Fantastic-looking shoes - I'll post a pic comparing them with a pair of (£160) Loakes I have - well-made/finished... and for £75 I am not complaining.

Okay, 12 months down the line I may just wear them work but, ATM, I feel I've done well.

    Bizarrely... I did. :paranoia:

I'll be polishing them up with a red cream to try and get them more of red/brown/burgundy - as opposed to mainly black with a brown top to them - and I reckon it might work. :embar:

The quality, while not being A Edmonds, Cheaneys, shell cordovan etc, is surprisngly good and as a G fitting I'm happy with the spend - which has hardly broken the bank.

Again, I'm quite chuffed with them. :satisfied:

Was it Discount Shoes that quoted you £160 for the Loake's. .

No pal - IIRC the missus got them from Stuarts.

Just checked and they're currently £155 - so that could be right as opposed to the £160 I quoted. :nodding:
