I understand you don't want a carbon copy of Carmina, I don't want that either. But it wouldn't make sense to be different just for the sake of being different, especially if it makes the boot look worse.
How about using elements from both Vass and Carmina? I like the way the wingtip goes on the Vass boots, but I don't like rest of the boot, so you can ignore that.

Does piping refer to the zigzag back strip? I like it, but not like the Meermin boots, it looks a little gaudy. More subtle piping like this would be nice, but I wouldn't mind if we leave it out altogether either.

Re wing - I think the wing's placement with regards to throat line and toe is placed correctly (roughly bisects the vamp), though I don't know if anyone was speaking about this. It looks much better in the 1st pic than the 2nd. However, I agree about increasing the length of the wing's line closer to the waist of the shoe (3rd pic).
Re angle of balmoral line - No preference. I think it looks good currently.
Re pull tabs - I don't think it was explicitly stated, but I thought the image we based the design off of had pull tabs (4th pic). I would prefer them as they make it easier to slip on/off and shouldn't be seen anyway.
Re back strip - From my understanding of piping versus plain, I'd prefer the latter.

I was just talking about increasing the length of the wing's line, so it comes closer to the waist. I agree when it comes to the placement of the wing itself.

Great shop job! I think we're getting there. Personally I think the point where it sweeps down to the welt needs to cone forward just slightly and peak a little higher to better follow the balmoral line. Let's go with clean lines instead of piping, yeah?

    Hello,

I just wanted to make sure I am not missing anything. I emailed Pepe 2+ months ago for a pair of MTO boots and I have not heard back. Are they backed up for this long? I also submitted a new inquiry on their webpage, and still nothing after a month.

Whats a shoe fiend to do?

Thanks for any help at all,

    David-

Have you ever had a reply from Pepe? If not, I doubt he's receiving your mail. Where are you sending the request?

I could honestly do this all day - it beats working. I'll stop here until there's more feedback.

LOL, I just made a similar shop, only worse.

The main difference between this and other austerity brogue boots is that most lines end between the 3th and 4th eyelet, while this one ends between the 7th and 8th.

Yeah, just drawing with pen. I'm not that proficient with the program.

I love messing around with photoshop. I did every tutorial I could get my hands on when I was in my early teens, but sadly never really did more with it, so I slowly unlearned all the skills. I'm assuming you're a photoshop professional?

Anyway, I think the general shape of the wing is pretty solid now!
