Wore my Meermin shoes for the second time today and noticed the following. Should I be concerned or pursue an exchange:

PS: There's some leather coating on the shoes and it rubs off easily. When I was shooting these pics, I had my shoes on my chinos and it left some small leather marks. Hope I can just wash it out, but does not look good. In one day, I've managed to lose two sweaters, one pair of chinos, and my shoe may be falling apart...what a day!

That's normal. I've had it happen on a number of shoes, from Edward Green to Crockett and Jones Handgrade, and it's never been a problem. After a while, the stitching underneath will be exposed, as you might see on a brand new pair of Allen Edmonds. It's just what happens with channeled soles. You're scraping leather all day over concrete, day in day out, after all.

I can't see splitting soles? It looks like they were sanded and finished a bit unevenly at the front, but they don't seem to bee splitting.

Yeah I've heard a few people mistake Sandro for a woman, not sure why. General rule with romance languages is ending in O is masculine and A is feminine, i.e Sandra would be the woman's version.

If I squeeze the welt and sole together and the gap disapeers does that sound like a slit?
If I pull the welt and sole apart and the gap gets wider does that sound like a split?

    Look at my picture again.

He was, and going back to photos I don't see any sole splitting neither? Maybe it's the flush toe taps?

I went with burgundy calf and brown suede. The buckle is brass and the last is Olfe.

It is a regular single monk, a la EG Oundle.

Here are a few pics of my Navy Blue Double Monks. They look purplish in the first two pics but they are more of a dark blue which can be seen in the last pic. The first two pics were taken inside with a flash on and the last pic was taken with no flash. In the sunlight they almost look royal blue but indoors they dark. I like them and the fit is great.

    No Flash on this one

I just got an email from Pepe. He said that they're going to introduce a plain toe double monk on a new last which is similar to Olfe. I can't wait to see the new collection.

102390 in UK 7. Beautiful shoes.

I wear a 6.5 in Ama last, and sizing up to 7 for New Rey was correct. The last is quite narrow. The last toe of my right foot was rubbing against the insole. I expect the leather to soften after a few wears though, so it should be fine.

Good! They need more styles on the Olfe. I think it's best looking last they have.
