There's a lot of great ones out there and it somewhat is dependent on your hair type. Sedu makes some great ones.

I used a blow drier as a teen, but it was the 80's so I'm not sure that counts.

Well, there was an association of cheap navy serge with the kind of trousers worn by the lower classes, particularly labourers and prisoners (and of course, naval uniform). However, we live in a more democratic age.

Agreed. And just how much more democratic an age it is was once debated (vis a vis navy hopsack) by two now departed members in a very memorable thread, IIRC.

My hair is like 80 to 90% dry after I towel off. Blow dryers just seem pointless unless you're trying to get your mullet "just so".

That's what I'm talking about. No way you're getting that look with just a towel and some dippidy-doo.

I loved this movie.

Anyone have an opinion on when a flared skirt would be advantageous? I know some houses offer this as part of their house cut, but I've never seen a sihlouette where a tighter skirt wouldn't look better. I think @dopey uses some tailors who cut a flared skirt. Would be good to get his thoughts.

Anyone have an opinion?

I think it's important to consider garments in motion as well as static - a flared skirt on a jacket can look better in motion. After some recent experimentation, I have found that I prefer my odd jackets to have more flair in the skirt than my suit jackets - I still don't mean a huge amount of flair but a little more than the norm. The vertical line seems to be far more important in a suit.

I think a bit of flare looks good almost any time. I like the visual break between jacket and trouser rather than a continuous column.

Unlike Parker, I do not care for the visual break, but that is just a matter of preference/taste.

None of these suggestion really seem to posit an advantage for a flared skirt, though, e.g. for particular body types of different styles of garment.

Thank you for filling in for me in my absence, and with a Steed pic I've never seen before to boot. I love a flared skirt.
