She's growing up. Any recent pics? Is she filling out a little?

I'm not so sure it's due to any maturity on her part; I've just kept her away from those worn out tennis balls. Actually, tennis as a whole doesn't seem to agree with her - I had her running around on a tennis court a few weeks back and she wore through the pad on one of her front paws. I noticed when she started leaving bloody paw prints all over the court. Healed up in a day or so, though. I'll have to get some new pics. She looks much the same to me; maybe her chest is filling out a bit. She's just over a year and a half now. Don't think I ever posted this one from about 4 months ago:

and this one I think was in the winter pics thread, but not in here:

Nice shots - she's a good looking dog. Are people friendly with her or wary because of her breed?

Thank you both.

lefty, people are generally very friendly towards her. I've been pleasantly surprised.

Any progress in your search for a Boxer pup?

My trip to the championships was cancelled due to the ash cloud and I didn't get to see the dog I wanted to. But there is a litter in Germany I am interested in.

Damn ash cloud. I was looking forward to your impressions of Budapest.

Hope the litter in Germany works out.

Hey Lefty,

I had a question similar to a earlier one. But I am interested in getting a dog, but need help deciding, I really want a great dane or a mini dachshund. But I live in a 1000sq ft apartment in the city and was wondering what breeds you think would be good for 2-3 30 minute walks? I always like the big dogs but I also wanted something I can bring with me when I go downtown. This would be my first dog, so I would definitely go to training classes at the local petco or petsmart, I would probably go to a rescue for whichever breed to avoid house breaking issues.

Thanx

Haha, That was actually my original plan but felt embarrased to admit it since I was a first time dog owner. Can both breeds adjust to a calm city lifestyle?

Kidding. But you're at extremes with these two breed.

The Dane can be handled in a small place, but chances are you'll be paying thousands in vet bills and the dog will die long before it's 10.

The Mini-Dachshund could be a more manageable choice thought it too will come with a set of problems.

Go to a dog show and meet the breeds up close and personal. That may help you narrow your decision. Once you pick I may be able to point you in the right direction.

Nothing will happen to that cop. Keep your dogs secured.
