Wasn't this a story like a year ago? Good on her. She's killing animals, what the fuck else is she supposed to do with a lion or a hippo?

I do not relate to hunting, so I think what she is doing is less than great. But, I am sure a myriad of people do the same and worse, they just dont get press because they are not blonde Texas cheerleaders.

I'm not opposed to hunting in general but the pictures (which were shared ages ago) are a little sad. I wouldn't turn down a chance to take down a hippo or water buffalo though - those fuckers are dicks.

she's not even doing this illegally. she's paying the governments shit tons of money for a permit which they use to kill off old bulls for population conservation. like in botswana and south africa african elephant herds are so large in number they eat away whole ecosystems. the government is resorting to injecting herds with vaccines to prevent pregnancy or lacing waterholes with birth control chemicals. all that stuff requires money which legal hunters like her provide by paying the government stupid amounts of money.

I fully support her, but legal and illegal are not terms that really apply in Africa.

You can try. But when you get arrested for kiddie porn and you're all like "shit, I killed the attorney who could represent me" you might regret it.

I'm skeptical of a 110 pound girl's ability to bring down a lion with a bow, compound or not

its not like your weight matters that much when you're shooting a gun or bow

I agree that if everything is legal, which presumably it is, then I don't know what the objection is except from those who are morally opposed to the recreational killing of animals, period.

What I would want to know is where the money for all that came from. Her parents (or somebody) must be as rich as Croesus to finance those hunts. The trophy fees for some of those animals, especially the white rhino, cost a small fortune.

Or maybe she has a huge trust fund all her own.

Strength does when you're shooting a bow, though with a compound a bit less.

@JLibourel , what's your take on that girl bringing down a lion with a bow?

True but it's not like weighing 110 pounds makes you automatically not able to kill an animal

I was reading a story about white rhino conservation I think in Namibia where there's like 100 total white rhinos. There was a bull at the end of its life that couldn't reproduce and was super aggressive and killing off really young males. They would have had to kill it off anyways but instead they decided to auction off a permit to hunt it. Some hunting lodge in Texas got the permission to auction it and some dude paid $1.2 million just for the permit. Then he had to hire guides and had a whole entourage to make sure he killed the right rhino. SJWs found out about it and he had to go into hiding from all the death threats he got.

I don't see any of these SJWs paying $1.2 million for animal conservation.

yeah, i mean, i hear that. but i still dont feel the hunting thing. if an animal needs to be put down, put it down, making a sport of it does not give me the warm fuzzies. i know know, all that money for the conservation... a good point, but im still not pro hunting for sport. im probably a minority there, and i understand the appeal and in this case the value, but its not for me.

Putting it down doesn't exactly give the warm fuzzier either but you have to do it. And if you have to do it might as make a bunch of money off of it so you can pay off your park rangers and get them equipment to prevent poachers from killing more rhinos. Damn poachers make so much money off of rhino horns their resources far outweigh the resources of the parks department of an African government.

well, i think we could argue about this, but i dont think a pro/anti hunting for sport debate is in order. i understand where you are coming from, but i dont feel it. no biggie.
